Rising Stars: Meet Frances Powell of Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances Powell.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path has never been a straight line, but it’s always been guided by curiosity, communication, and a deep interest in human potential.
I began my career as a corporate spokesperson and on-camera host, helping some of the world’s most recognized brands share their stories with confidence and clarity. Over time, I realized I was just as captivated by what was happening BEHIND the words: how people connected, expressed themselves, and led with authenticity. That curiosity set me on the path I’ve followed ever since.
I’ve spent the past 25 years facilitating groups and conversations that matter, from boardrooms to global leadership summits, and for much of that time, I’ve served as a presentation and executive coach. My work now blends those worlds: helping senior and C-suite leaders elevate their executive presence, communicate with impact, and lead with both strength and heart.
It’s been a journey of integration that brings together the outer voice and the inner self, and stepping forward to help others do the same.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most meaningful journeys, it hasn’t always been smooth. There have been seasons of uncertainty, reinvention, and plenty of self-reflection.
Early on, I often felt the pressure to fit into a mold of what a successful woman professional “should” be. Over time, I learned that my greatest strength came from embracing what made me different, namely my curiosity, intuition, and the ability to connect with people on a deeper level.
Building a business in the leadership and coaching space also requires resilience. There have been moments of doubt, long stretches of learning, and times when I had to start over in new directions.
Each challenge taught me to trust my own voice and to lead with presence, not perfection. Those lessons are what I now help others discover in themselves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an executive and presentation coach, facilitator, keynote speaker and leadership consultant who works with senior and C-suite leaders around the world.
My focus is on helping leaders communicate with authenticity, build executive presence, and lead with both confidence and compassion. I also partner with organizations across industries to design and deliver leadership programs, keynotes, and workshops that create lasting impact.
What distinguishes my work is the combination of heart and science. I bring more than twenty-five years of experience as a corporate spokesperson, master facilitator and coach, along with advanced training in various assessments, mindfulness practices, and yoga therapy. This allows me to guide leaders in developing both the presence they project and the self-awareness and overall well-being that sustains it.
I am most proud of seeing clients transform the way they show up. When someone steps into a room fully grounded, authentic, and clear in their purpose, it changes how others respond to them. Helping leaders find that alignment is the heart of my work.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is helping people feel confident in who they are and how they lead. So many talented, capable leaders, especially women, hold themselves back by trying to fit into outdated definitions of confidence or success. My mission is to help them unlearn that conditioning and reconnect with their authentic power.
I believe confidence is not about performing a narrative; it’s about being grounded, self-aware, and fully present. When people stop striving to “prove” and start leading from who they truly are, everything changes. Their communication becomes more impactful, their relationships deepen, and their leadership inspires trust.
That’s what keeps me inspired every day: watching clients gain confidence and step into their authentic power.
