Rising Stars: Meet Ev Marquee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ev Marquee.

Hi Ev, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My creative/artistic journey started around 15 years ago when I had the opportunity to travel the world. I was gone for 6 months straight and it completely changed my life trajectory. I was so inspired and moved by all that I experienced that I went from having plans to do a master’s program to scratching that and buying the latest DSLR camera as soon as I got home!

I taught myself how to use the camera and, with the help of a good friend, we started hosting and curating a queer party in LA where I was also the resident photographer. This event became my playground which then opened doors to many other creative projects and opportunities. After exploring different styles and types of photography I eventually ventured deeper into editorial work and began working more intentionally with women, especially women of color.

In the last 5 years, I moved through major lifestyle changes, received spiritual initiations, and expanded into new creative avenues. These days I offer visual arts services (photography and videography/filmmaking) as well as healing arts (quantum healing/energy work, space holding/event curation, and an online goddess course).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Knowing that I have the power to create my reality has been helpful in navigating tough situations along the way. With the recent lockdowns and fear tactics around the world, the most challenging thing was to maintain balance and not get sucked into the dramas breaking out everywhere.

But generally speaking, minding your business so as to not get distracted from your vision/dreams is a challenge any given day for anyone, especially an “artist” or “healer” who by society’s standards is not deemed important. So, for me, staying positive, focused, and held by my community and guides during low or unmotivated times has been key.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a visual artist, healing facilitator, activator & entrepreneur devoted to sovereignty, goddess spirituality, sisterhood & new paradigm visions.

I am known for offering Goddess Photoshoots, past life regression sessions, and teaching an online goddess course.

The goal and intention underlying all of my projects, services, and co-creative experiences are to offer inspiration and beauty, invoke empowerment, and assist in the healing/elevation of the collective.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m actually a very private person and though most who know me mainly know about my photography services and experience hosting events, many don’t know about the extent of my healing services and the history behind them such as trainings, initiations, courses, apprenticeships, etc.

Up until this point, I have relied heavily on word of mouth and referrals due to the sensitivity of sharing this work publicly. But that’s changing!
