Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Jones.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always say entertainment chose me, I started my career by attending a taping of a live dating show. It was the first time I ever attended a live taping of a show. At the time I thought it was a cool experience but I ended up talking to one of the producers there and we really hit it off, we ended up talking about the production and it was at that moment I knew this is what I wanted to do she led me to CTV which was a local cable station and that’s where I started my career and created and produced my show.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There is nothing smooth when you decide to follow your dreams and step outside the box. I have been an independent producer for over ten years and smooth is the last way I would describe my journey. It has been hard, disappointing, stressful, lonely and one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life and it has tested me in ways I didn’t know were possible but when you have those moments of success and you see what you envisioned in your mind come to life it is the most rewarding feeling you can ever experience. So many people will go through life never knowing their calling or ever going after it. I knew this would not be easy but when you know you are called to do something great with your life, it is not something you walk away from.
With all the disappointments up and downs, it has been the most amazing experience I am still learning and growing as a person and creative producer. I am truly looking forward to what the future holds for me. When you step out on faith, the universe has a way of helping you get to where you want to go and being an example for others coming up and wanting to follow their dreams feel good if I inspire one person to never give up on their dreams I’ve done my job.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a true creative, as an Executive Producer/Host, I create shows which I love to do along with hosting. I started with celebrity interviews and red carpet hosting and in 2019, I created my production company AOSTL Productions we create content for various platforms along with my interview series, “Donna Jones Live” & “Rooftop Conversations”. We are currently partnering on a new show with Kolla Kat Productions, We are creating a new vegan cooking show “Veg Head” and are currently in pre-production and will be shooting within the next two weeks, we are excited to be partnering with Kolla Kat productions on this project. We are also in talks with other platforms to provide new content and working on something exciting on the streaming side but can’t talk too much about that right now but we are excited and look forward to being able to tell you more about that project soon.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck I do believe in divine intervention, God has truly been my guide through all of this because luck would not have kept me going when things got hard for me. I moved to Los Angles four years ago by myself and it was truly faith and GOD that kept me going when at times I didn’t have all the answers but as things unfolded and doors started to open and the right people started to come in my life I know it was more than just luck it was my purpose and there is so much more for me to do so every day I set me intentions for my day and my life and when you have a direction for your life you then know where your headed and even though you don’t know how you are going to get there you know there is a force bigger than yourself who is guiding you through all the up and downs so you just have to trust the process and know it will work if you believe it will work.
