Today we’d like to introduce you to Desirie Rosales
Hi Desirie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a wife and a momma of four, and my journey began with a passion for capturing moments and creating memories. As a young kid, I loved scrapbooking my photos from junior high to high school, and sharing those memories with friends brought me joy as I witnessed their reactions, reliving the good old times.
When my son was born in 2015, I got my first digital camera and fell in love with documenting his growth. Photography became more than just a hobby; I discovered a passion for editing and learned how each photo could tell a unique story or evoke powerful emotions.
Sharing my work on social media received wonderful feedback, fueling my desire to pursue photography professionally and gift cherished memories to others. I enrolled in photography school at Tri-community in Covina and started my photography business part-time while working at Riverside County Regional Medical Center. During my pregnancy with my last baby, Elelna, I transitioned to working with Casa Colina in Pomona.
Once my daughter was born and COVID hit, I realized my calling was to be home with my children during this challenging time. With my kids five years apart, I embraced their different personalities and my evolving roles as a momma. This understanding led me to turn my dream into a full-time business, allowing me to homeschool two of my children.
Today, I proudly celebrate five years of pursuing my passion with faith and dedication. I am grateful to build a career that lets me be present for my children while contributing financially to our household.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For someone who has always worked since the age of 15, attended school, and earned a bachelor’s degree, pursuing a passion as a career felt foreign and, to be honest, a bit silly. After years in corporate jobs, I believed financial security came from those positions. However, trusting in God and embracing my calling allowed me to conquer my fears and insecurities.
Has it been easy? No! I’ve faced tests and moments of doubt, questioning whether I made the right choice. But what business owner hasn’t experienced this? What leader doesn’t feel pressure and insecurity at times?
It was in that realization that I chose to persevere, and I’m so grateful I did. I’ve built lasting friendships, traveled, and most importantly, spent quality time with my children and husband, who will always come first to me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I feel I specialize in creating beautiful emotions and comfort into the lives of others while capturing their moments and memories. Photography isn’t just about taking photos; it’s an investment of time, passion, and love for each client and friend, aiming to bring out their best in every session and ensure they leave feeling their happiest.
Through this journey, I’ve discovered that communication, compassion, and a genuine enjoyment of connecting with people has brought interactions and they truly become more like family than just clients.
There are countless talented photographers out there, many of whom have turned into dear friends. This serves as a beautiful reminder that we can uplift, love, and share a common passion.
What sets me apart is my commitment to collaboration over competition; I’m here to help, love, and celebrate the beauty that photography can unveil. My heart is sincere, ensuring everyone feels they are with someone they can trust and be completely be at ease with.
What makes you happy?
What brings me joy? First and foremost, my Lord and Savior, but equally important is the time I spend with my family—even on the tough days, which can certainly be a challenge! LOL!!
Being a wife and a momma fills my heart with purpose as I navigate this journey of life. It’s incredible to reflect on the progress I’ve made despite facing numerous obstacles, struggles, doubts, and fears along the way.
What warms my heart the most is the support I receive from my clients, who have become friends. Knowing that they continue to book, hire, and trust me is such a blessing and a source of happiness that words can hardly capture.
I am genuinely grateful for each and every one of them!
