Rising Stars: Meet Dani Guillory of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Guillory

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Wow, well my path leading me to doing content creation and social media management has been filled with a lot of trail and error! Ever since I was young I’ve always been very creative and loved expressing myself through different art forms, so always having that as my north star in my heart has always lead me into different creative endeavors. I’ve dabbled in everything from hosting to designing clothes, and although I still really enjoy those things, I still felt the need to search for something else. Once I learned how to do video editing is when everything really started to come together for me. The video editing lead to me doing Youtube and different forms of content creation, which then lead to me connecting with brands and businesses to do their social media management. I always find so much joy in content creation, and although I spend more time creating content for my client’s than myself these days, I couldn’t be happier!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I’m so happy with the social media management clients I have now, but for every one client I have, I feel like there were 100 that I reached out to that said they didn’t need social media help, or just didn’t even reply to my emails. I even got business cards and passed them out to local businesses all day in an attempt to get my first client. It was definitely not easy but I didn’t give up. When it comes to content creation it was a lot of learning, a lot of growing, and a lot of figuring things out on my own, but it was worth it because the more I learn the more I love it. I always knew what I wanted, and I think that’s what’s so special about doing what you love, even when things get tough you still have the urge to push through.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a content creator on Youtube and I am a social media manager. I’ve also started acting! I’ve been going to acting classes for a while now and auditioning which is another great way for me to express my creativity. I am most proud of the fact that I am doing something that I love. I wake up everyday and feel at peace with what my job is and I love that. I am a very free spirited person, and content creation and social media is not an easy thing to do, but I love it and it allows me to have an open schedule that works perfectly with my lifestyle. I think what sets me apart from others is that I don’t feel like I fit into any one box. I’m not just a creator, I’m not just a social media manager, I’m not just an actress, I am many things and I never let “labels” stop me from going after what my heart feels called to do.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is when you are truly happy and at peace. Not just with career, but in life. If you are doing something you enjoy, and living a life that makes you happy, then you are successful!
