Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Gastaldo, Rise Barkan, and Sky Barkan. They and their team shared their story with us below:
This band goes back to childhood with Rise and Sky being brothers and having formed a musical bond from an early age. They had played music for several years and gone through drummers and additional members before Christian joined. While going to college in Los Angeles, Rise had met our drummer Christian at club meeting one night before it started. They both showed up an hour early and while waiting for it to start, began to talk about music and had actually left the club to discuss forming a band and weeks later was introduced to Sky and the trio was formed. Everything fit together like a glove and we all just knew some kind of magic was in the air when we first played a song together. With Rise being our primary songwriter/Lead Vocalist it helped hit the ground running with original music.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
With two members, Rise and Sky, being brothers it definitely helped make the process of forming our sound easier. Having that relationship and understanding of how we play from an early age helped us find our sound more. And when Christian joined, it just completed it. We haven’t really had problems finding our sound. We knew from the beginning the energy, style and power that we wanted our music to have and we are playing it now. Our taste has changed since forming and we have been experimenting with new songwriting that is definitely different but we feel it hasn’t lost our spirit. People change, the music we produce will change but we will always be us along our journey.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a Pop-Rock band based In Los Angeles. We are known for our high-energy live performances, loud and dominating sound when playing a show and are able to gain an audience’s attention quickly and hold it. We are most proud of our singles that have been released as well as our journey from playing in a garage to doing the shows that we have done and working with some amazing people along the way. What sets us apart from other bands is our commitment to playing rock n roll music without compromise or selling out. We use minimal pedals, equipment and production in our deliverance of a classic power trio sound.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People are able to work with us by continuing to give us the space and time to make music and get it out as soon as we can. We love releasing music for people to stream and we love when we get feedback through DM’s, shoutouts and fans coming to our shows and talking to us in person as well. We always make sure to spend time before and after shows to talk to the crowd and hear feedback. Coming to our shows is the best way to support us because it allows us to see what works and what doesn’t work for song progressions, styles and lyric as well. Coming to our shows will be the best form of support we could ask for as well as streaming our music and sharing it to others as well.
