Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Kurtz.
Hi Carrie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into this work didn’t begin in a classroom — it began in survival.
I grew up with an unavailable mother whose alcoholism shaped the emotional landscape of my early years. I lost my father at a young age, and with that loss came a profound grief and a deep sense of being unprotected in the world. I carried a silent belief that I was too much, not enough, and somehow fundamentally unworthy of love and care.
That inner narrative followed me into adulthood. I attracted relationships, work environments, and patterns that mirrored my unworthiness — over-giving, people-pleasing, self-abandoning — trying to earn the connection and safety I never received.
I tried to fix it with mindset work, personal development, and sheer willpower. But nothing truly shifted until I discovered somatic healing and nervous system work. That’s when I stopped just understanding my pain and began feeling and releasing it. I learned to track the signals of my body, regulate my nervous system, and relate to myself with compassion instead of criticism.
I didn’t just learn this work — I lived it. I’ve sat in the depths, faced the freeze, and come out the other side with a sense of self that no longer depends on performance or external validation.
Today, I’m a Multi-Modality Somatic Embodiment Coach and SoulFlow™ Master Practitioner. I specialize in helping healers, coaches, and therapists — the ones who are usually holding everyone else — get to the root of their burnout, imposter syndrome, and protective patterns.
My work is about nervous system reclamation, embodied safety, and coming home to the truth of who you are — not who the world taught you to be. Because when you feel safe in your body, everything else in life and business begins to align.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not a smooth road. My mother was a narcissist and an alcoholic. My father was my rock but they divorced when I was 10 and then he got sick and died when I was 18. I engaged in numbing behaviors like an eating disorder, used alcohol and drugs. I was molested by my moms boyfriend and moved out when I was 18. I chose inappropriate men, struggled with finances and just in general, my lack of self worth reflected every where in my life. It was when I got pregnant with my first son that I began to take my life more seriously.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
⸻
I’m a Multi-Modality Somatic Embodiment Coach and SoulFlow™ Master Practitioner. I specialize in helping healers, coaches, and therapists regulate their nervous systems, release survival patterns, and reconnect with their authentic selves — so they can lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
What sets my work apart is that it goes straight to the root. I combine deep somatic practices with trauma-informed coaching to create lasting transformation from the inside out — not just mindset shifts, but embodied change.
I’m most proud of the way I’ve turned my own pain into purpose. I am finally in a healthy marriage for 14 years. Ive raised 2 amazing kids. I’ve lived this work. And now I get to walk alongside others as they reclaim their value and embody who they truly are.
