Rising Stars: Meet Cambria Foden of Malibu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cambria Foden.

Hi Cambria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, I’m Cambria Foden, the founder of Zoila, a jewelry brand I launched in the summer of 2025. Zoila was born from a desire to create effortlessly cool, sculptural silver jewelry. Pieces that feel bold, beautifully designed, and top-quality, without the luxury markup.

Creativity has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always making things—painting, crafting, designing—and completely losing myself in the process of turning ideas into something tangible. That same curiosity and drive followed me into adulthood, along with a deep desire to build something of my own: a brand that could serve as a creative outlet where I’d have full freedom to bring my vision to life through products, imagery, and storytelling.

My entrepreneurial journey started in 2018 with a small woven handbag brand, and over the last seven years, I’ve launched five different e-commerce businesses! All creative, all product-based, each one teaching me something invaluable. For a long time, I saw those attempts as failures, but now I realize they were the foundation of everything I know about creating a brand, designing products, business systems, and persistence.

At the end of 2024, I hit a turning point. I was frustrated with feeling stuck and decided to get brutally honest with myself. I made a list of every lesson from my past ventures, what worked, what didn’t, and what I wanted to feel in my next chapter. That list became the blueprint for Zoila. I promised myself that this time, I’d take everything I’d learned and build the brand I had always envisioned. One that was strategic, refined, and deeply personal.

And that’s how Zoila came to life! I’d been frustrated by the endless sea of dainty, forgettable jewelry and wanted to create something that stood out: statement pieces that make everyday styling feel intentional and expressive. Designed in my hometown of Los Angeles, each Zoila piece reflects my belief that jewelry should feel sculptural, elevated, and never basic. It’s for those who have taste, confidence, and a quiet refusal to blend in.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs. Success rarely happens overnight! For me, the biggest challenge has been staying committed through the in-between moments. When you’re still building, still figuring things out, and no one else can see your vision yet.

There were so many times I questioned whether I was on the right path, but I’ve learned that you haven’t failed until you quit! Each step forward, even the small ones, compounds over time. And it’s all about sticking with your vision and being consistent and persistent.

My strengths have always been on the creative side: designing products, building a brand identity, and bringing everything to life visually. I love creative directing our shoots, developing the aesthetic, and shaping how Zoila feels as a brand. That’s where I’m most in flow.

The challenge as a solo entrepreneur, especially in the early stages, is that you wear every hat, even the ones that don’t come naturally. I’ve learned accounting, logistics, operations, and marketing out of necessity. Right now, my focus is on outsourcing digital marketing and PR, so I can devote more time to the creative direction and product design side, which are the parts of the business that make me feel most inspired.

It’s been anything but easy, but I wouldn’t trade it! I have to believe that every struggle has made me a better founder and a more grounded creative. Zoila is the culmination of years of experimentation, lessons, and persistence. And finally, it feels like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

We just launched this year, so Zoila is still a baby, and I’m so excited to see how the brand grows! I can’t wait to see where 2026 takes us.
