Rising Stars: Meet Caleb Caceres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Caceres.

Hi Caleb, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved the arts. Like every young kid, I found myself spending my time watching television and my desire to act grew stronger and stronger.

The first taste I got was when I was a part of the musical “The Little Mermaid”. I knew then that this was going to be my career. With every production, I was a part of, the more I noticed how I would connect with the audience. I was able to make them react in many ways like laughing, sadness, being scared, angry, intrigued, and on the edge of their seats. Acting is my calling; I really enjoy and embody the characters I played through the years, and I’ve watched them take on a life of their own.

I got my first agent after High School which is when I discovered the business side of the industry and all the fascinating pieces that make it work.

I spend my days auditioning “On Camera” and I’ve also expanded to the world of “voice overs” which is a very specific craft. I always find myself pushing my own boundaries.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been tricky since covid. The audition process has changed, and I had to adjust to an industry of virtual auditions, it has been an adjustment dealing with the competition and rejection I always look as obstacles as opportunities, and I always challenge myself to be better. Better at auditioning, better at delivering performances, but most of all, better at being authentic in my delivery.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Comedy comes very easy for me; I’ve always had comedic timing and I became aware of it early on. I have played many characters such as the sidekick all the way to being the leading man. I also really enjoy playing difficult dramatic roles that are uncomfortable and intense.

I feel most accomplished for the journey and what I have learned about myself, the industry, my work ethic and my entrepreneurial skills that I have developed on my way to becoming a working actor.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Yes, “The Power of the Actor” by Ivana Chubbuck, and most recently “Respect for Acting” by Uta Hagen
