Rising Stars: Meet Brooke Olimpieri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Olimpieri.

Hi Brooke, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ahhhhh.. where to begin… My story is long but also feels short… Life is a crazy ride. I have always been creative, in my 20’s I started a clothing brand, all cut and sewn by me. I began to photograph models in my pieces and quickly fell in love with photography. It was an instant love affair and took all of my attention. I gave up the clothing business and pursued my career in photography. I constantly created, I was so inspired, I would shoot 3-4 times a week, or as often as I could. It’s now been about 8 years as a professional photographer, I still feel exactly the same, the excitement I get from my work is unmatched. I just LOVE what I do!

Around the end of 2019/early 2020, I found myself with a significant amount of free time… I decided to finally pursue a new venture that I have been dying to do for years. I started my own lingerie brand, Miss Money Panties! I went back to my roots of design and love of the 80’s & 90’s lingerie! Miss Money Panties is my baby, I am literally obsessed. My vision for Miss Money Panties is quite the opposite of most fashion brands these days, to tackle fashion waste problem and make quality lingerie accessible. Miss Money Panties utilizes a sustainable supply chain, locally sourcing beautiful silk & manufacturing our panties here in LA. We source excess silk charmeuse that has been left behind by designer brands, factories, warehouses, and mills, and transform it into limited-edition panties!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
SOOOO smooth… I kid, I kid… Like all good things, there is always a learning curve and lots of ups and downs. But always worth it. Owning a business, there will always be hurdles, but we overcome, and learn, and move forward.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
First and foremost… I am a photographer. I am known for my use of 35mm film & polaroid. Regardless of its recent popularity, I have always and will always shoot film. Digital just doesn’t do it for me, I’m more of a moment lost in time type of girl, and that’s the way film makes me feel. But.. I wear many hats these days, I am also a business owner, designer, & creative director of Miss Money Panties. I am so proud of my brand, I feel so empowered to be a woman and create lingerie for women to feel good about their bodies in.

How do you think about happiness?
Work, my family, dogs, food, a good martini, the ocean, a bath & a good book.
