Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreas Alfaro.
Hi Andreas , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I never really thought I’d end up here honestly. Even though in the end, it kind of felt like destiny. I moved from New York City seven years ago got a job offer out here as an assistant in a very difficult job position.
Picture of the devil wears Prada, it was just like the movie with a little more cursing a little more screaming lol. I knew what I was getting myself into though I had been warned. My employer was a tough one to work for they took it as a challenge and did that for a year.
After that year came to close I had saved up enough money to be able to chill and enjoy life for a little bit and figure out what I really wanted to do. During the following year, I just pursued my passions following them into anything action and adventure related while developing my photography, videography, skills which have led me to where I am today.
Naturally, I fell into the world of social media, creating and producing most of my own content. Developed a new career in partner acrobatics and got in front of the camera on some of the biggest stages of the world, including America’s Got Talent, The Ellen Show, France Got Talent, Italy and Georgias Got Talent. Our team name was positive impact movement and we pioneered an act called acrobatic weightlifting, something never before seen! Our mission is to inspire positivity through movement.
After this chapter came to a close two out of four teammates, decided to move out to Las Vegas and pursue circus in a residency show on the strip. However, I decided to stay in LA and pursue my childhood dream of becoming a Stuntman and actor.
This is what I am focusing on nowadays. I worked on a few TV shows for HBO and a few movies. I’ve gotten to work with Elton John and Brandi Carlile on their latest music video who believes in angels? Sabrina Carpenter in Nespresso I recently worked on a new project with James Franco.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, it’s definitely not been a smooth road. It’s true when they say Hollywood is not for the faint of heart. There are many obstacles to overcome a lot of competition, many challenges to break into the industry, etc.…
Some months you’ll be super busy and working all the time on the edge of burning out. Another months it will be so slow. You feel like a bear in hibernation, wondering when your next job will appear.
I’ve learned that is important to create stability and structure outside of the uncertainty of the industry so that we are not dependent on that which we cannot control.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
When it comes to my line of work I have a few different avenues I news pursue. First and foremost my Stunt and acting career.
Some people know me as the real life Spider-Man as I’ve done a few YouTube projects where I’ve gone around New York City, dressed up as Spider-Man doing some high flying acrobatics, tricks and stunts around the city like climbing buildings and jumping off rooftops.
I am also a fitness professional. I have an online coaching program where I help high-performing men find their inner fire and purpose. This program is the culmination of the last 11 years of my life’s work that I’ve learned through my Travels, education, and training of many different physical disciplines, some of that or only are achievable in some of the most remote places of the world. What set me apart from other fitness professionals is that this isn’t just a physical program. It also combines mind, body and spirit. This is where the real magic happens when you’re able to work on all three at once.
My company is named the Awakened Warrior. And we also focus on retreats where we take people camping into nature and help awaken their inner warrior spirit by training a variety of different disciplines that conjunct mind, body and spirit..
On top of all this, every year with my acrobatic team, we host a movement festival called the positive impact movement festival where we train a variety of different disciplines such as partner acrobatics (a.k.a. Acro yoga) , dance, Trampoline, Ninja Warrior, and other circus disciplines.
These community events we throw are probably some of the most rewarding work we’ve done and also some of the hardest work it takes to put it on
What does success mean to you?
I used to believe success was how much money you could make. As a man, I believe we are indoctrinated with this false perception of success. That means how much money and how many girls can you have. Which is a very skewed reality of life.
Nowadays, I believe success lies in the quality of life we’re able to curate for ourselves, the quality of our relationships we have surrounding us and ultimately how happy and fulfilled we are on the inside. Also, not to neglect how healthy we are. A healthy body, mind and soul is a huge part of what I define as success nowadays.
