Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Lilliston
Hi Aaron , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always like to say my life started at the age of 8 when my older brother at 9 years old had an ache in his head so much that he was crying. We later found out that he had a tumor in his eye that was benign at first which 2 years later became cancerous. With my mom and brother in the hospital all the time I tended to hangout out with my friends a lot or remained home alone. Him being, at the time, 1 of 75 people in the world to have the type of cancer he had we often asked the question why him. Eventually he lost his eye to the cancer and became 1 of 4 people in the world that survived the cancer the first time. He eventually lost his life at the age of 19 and I was 17 going on 18. Mad at the world, I turned to drugs and alcohol to cope with the pain of this tragedy and quit school. Years later I would go on to meet the love of my life who I ended up loosing in a car crash at the age of 21 along with my step daughter of 3 years old. Being able to do nothing about this I tried to end my life several times. I felt trapped and alone and unable to move on with myself. I fell again to drugs and alcohol even worse then before. I moved from Virginia out to Washington where I got into harder drugs. 6 years later I felt like there was no hope for me , I didn’t know what to do. I decided to turn my life to God and I started getting sober and I remember them saying never give up on your dreams. So I decided to move to California to purse my acting career. I attended school at New York film Academy to graduate (with honors) with my associates degree. I’ve been in over 60 student films throughout my acting career and I now plan to make a production company to make a film about my life, as this is my life in a nut shell, to give people hope and inspiration that no matter what happens or how much pain and suffering you go through, you must never give up!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not been a smooth road at all. I’ve encountered so much struggle. Trying to find work outside of school was hard but through networking on the side of school work and filming I eventually found myself an agent. I remember I was out at a networking event for the majority of a night and had to be on set with 45 minutes of sleep to shoot 11 scenes that day. I’ve worked extremely hard to get where I want to be. People want the success but never see the work that goes behind it. As far as my life struggle we’ll I guess that’s been explained but as I said before that was my life in a nut shell. Let’s just say I’m 30 years old and I feel like I’m 70 for the amount of things that I’ve been through in my life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an actor, I’m all for comedy, drama, and rom coms. Known for my work in a film called “Subtitles” And for a film I helped write, direct, and act in called “Bank Robbery” and many other films. I’m most proud of my progress in life itself. I’ve come a very long way from the lost individual I used to be. What sets me a part from others is by all means my story and my experiences in life, and thing is is I wouldn’t take any of thoes life experiences back, because well, I wouldn’t be me
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
