I have always felt a tendency to be an artist. Born in Brazil, I had struggled trying to find myself  professionally for almost all my lifetime there. I spent years in law school and almost became a lawyer or something else in that field. At the same time, I was studying to be a psychotherapist, which actually really helped me to make the decision of quitting everything and going after something else that I really wanted to do. When I first started digital photography, it was rather more of a hobby than a profession. I basically took photos of random things like flowers, cars, street photography, etc. On weekends I would go out with friends just to shoot some random destinations in our area (San Francisco). It took some time for me to develop a certain style, and it wasn’t until 2-3 years down the line that I thought the “colorful, cheerful, vibrant colors” lifestyle photography was going to be it. I also took up on a lot of adventuring to shoot landscapes and mainly use some VSCO presets to edit my photos. Read More>>

I’ve been interested in photography since high school. There is a bit of magic and uniqueness in being able to capture a moment in time and space. I really enjoyed photographing architecture, nature, and landscapes. Over the years as 35mm film gave way to digital, I found myself restricted in how much I could shoot as the cost of developing film increased. After college I rarely found myself shooting at all. I got into photography when I was 17. I was in high school and extremely bored with a lot of the general courses I was required to take. I figured, “hey, I’ll take an art class and see if that’s any fun.” I was no good at drawing and didn’t really care about sculpture or 3D making but thought that an intro to darkroom photography class might be interesting. Basically, it was the process of making a physical document (image) with light, paper, and chemical treatments that made me realize that image making was my passion and that I would do anything it takes to make a full-time career out of photography. My journey in photography began when I bought my first camera, a Nikon to record high-quality videos. What happened was I didn’t end up using it for video. I thought to myself I have this great camera why not go out and take pictures. I began taking pictures while on my hikes and asking friends to pose for me and after that, I just grew to love it. I started working with photography when I was in high school. I took a class taught by Ken Neely, who had been around at Agoura High School since it’s inception. He was a keen critic with a sense of humor, who encouraged his students to push themselves. He would tell me wild stories of his past and he served as an inspiration for me. I started with B&W photography- developing in a dark room- and moved into digital photography as high school progressed. At NYU film school, I continued to explore and study photography. I even took a photo course in Florence, Italy. I like portraiture and want to further explore artistic nudes. Read More>>

I remember in photography club at school, when I was eleven, we were taught to process our own films in the dark room and since then I’ve always had an interest in photography and the creative process. Then growing up in a family where my father, Michael, one of Briton’s best wildlife and equestrian photographers, encouraged us to go out and capture life. There was always a camera around us growing up, at sports days, school plays, and family holidays, Dad made sure of that.
