Meet Yorgi Spanos of Manssion in Manhattan Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yorgi Spanos.

Yorgi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
To be honest, it all started with a conversation at a hockey game two years ago. My buddy Feras (Co-Owner) had told me that he and our other buddy (Torii Co-Owner) started a men’s accessory line. I love men’s jewelry, so it instantly caught my attention. As he continued to tell me, I got more and more interested. The idea sounded so crazy that I proposed I either invest or join the team at the very beginning stages of MANSSION. He always said I had a unique style and a unique way of looking at things and the rest is history… They brought me on as the Chief Branding Officer in addition to an owner, but realistically we all still to this day wear different hats. Today we’re global… we ship all over the world. We used to pray for one order a day about seven months ago and now we do about a hundred a day and every month is getting better and better. Fast forward to today and our biggest issues is keeping our inventory in stock!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been far from smooth, but we have yet to have a problem we couldn’t overcome ourselves. Some of our struggles were just learning the industry. We have literally built this amazing brand from the ground up. Whether it’s designing each piece and making millimeter decisions, to self-taught website layout and design, or learning advertising. We don’t believe in shortcuts, and we don’t believe in failing. None of us had experience in anything… I was liquor rep, Torii was a cop, and Feras was in product management to give you an idea where we came from.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Manssion – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We design jewelry that appeals to our demographic. We have unique designs that are all custom. Whether its beads, nylons, strings, cuffs, leather bracelet straps or sunglass chains. Honestly, I am extremely proud of the products we’ve created backed by the brand. Our brand is really something else that isn’t of the norm. We are your athletes, young professionals, creators, and just anyone striving to stand out and not fit in. We really want to be one of the biggest brands in the world one day, and I truly think we will be.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love L.A. I’m from Hermosa beach. Los Angeles has it all; culture, food, sunsets you name it. The only thing that sucks is the traffic, but even then, you can knock out the newest albums while driving in one sitting. Lastly, I know this is random, but I just want to give a shout out to my mom… raised me as a single mother pretty much and did the job of two parents. I love you.
