Meet West Side Stylist: Franzy Staedter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Franzy Staedter.

Franzy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up in Germany with parents and grandparents is politics, I always understood the importance of wardrobe and appearance. After moving to LA in my early 20’s and having worked in PR for a bit, I wanted a change and decided that fashion should be my one and only career. I work hard and appreciate everybody that ever has given me a chance to thrive in my professional pursuit. I built great relationships with clients and business partners over the years and I think that there is so much more to accomplish and to establish.

Has it been a smooth road?
If it was easy everybody would do it and working in entertainment is always about finding solutions and making things happen. Simultaneously of starting my career I went through a divorce but I never let my personal life affect my professional performance.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am very excited for my future with the band Forever In Your Mind. I have worked with them for a couple of years now and they have such amazing talents and a really bright future ahead of them. I am also really looking forward to see one of my other clients, Corey Fogelmanis succeed in his career after “Girl Meets World”. And of course, I have some more projects in the works which will come to fruition in 2017/2018.

Let’s dig a little deeper into your story. What was the hardest time you’ve had?
I think every professional hits these famous invisible walls miraculously showing up in a career path. You think you have everything under control and then things go wrong all of a sudden. You connect with the wrong people, make a bad judgement call, loose clients and then having to deal with those consequences. And it happens all at once. I found comfort and advice through close family and friends. I truly believe part of my success is to associate myself with people that have vast knowledge on business, fiances and interpersonal relationships. I still ask for advice and feedback before making bigger decisions and sometimes I don’t like what they have to say. But I keep an open mind and dial back on my own insecurities and ego.

What about “Wow-moments” – any moments that stick out? Any moments when you felt like you had made it?
When I watched the 2015 Emmy opening skit with Andy Samberg and it actually sunk in that I created this wardrobe for him and for the cast, I for sure thought that my career is headed in the right direction. I am a very ambitious person so I am always looking for the next wardrobe adventure.
