Meet Vince Remo of San Remo Productions in Huntington Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vince Remo.

Vince, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started off as an illustrator and photographer back in high school in the 80’s. Then I went to tech school for a year to learn Graphic Design. I landed my first job as an Illustrator after tech school and learned how to design for silkscreen applications. While working as a Graphic Designer I was diving into Video editing and Animations back in the 90s as a hobby. After working for different companies throughout the 90s I learned every aspect of Graphic Design such as offset and digital printing, silk screening, web design, email blasts…. you name it. But I was always interested in film making and motion graphics. I sharpened my skills in Videography using 3 VCRs to edit home made movies. Mostly documentaries of road trips and parties my friend and I took. Fast forward to 2010 is when I first got my first job as an official videographer at Fremont College. I documented events and created promotional videos for online and broadcast TV. By 2013, while working for Fremont I decided to make my feature film and did so by writing a script and producing a 1 hour movie called Apartment 13. After Fremont College, I worked for 3M/Meguiar’s Auto Care as their official videographer. Today I am freelance Graphic Designer/Photographer and Videographer producing animated features and commercials for prominent companies such Amazon, Ninja Cards and On The Wave Productions. My goal is to produce a full length feature using one my scripts which are registered under Writer’s Guild of America call “Allmighty” and a longer version of “Apartment 13.”

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road. To this day it’s never a smooth road. I learned that you should never think that way. You should never put your guard. ALWAYS go for every opportunity that comes your way and NEVER leave any stones unturned.

Most of my struggles were because of that. I would think that’ I’ve hit the big time and I would get comfortable and cocky and next thing you know…POOF…it’s gone.

San Remo Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I do Video Productions, Animations and Graphic Design. I am most proud of producing my full featured movie “Apartment 13”. What sets me apart is that I don’t need a big crew and everything is at my disposal such as voice overs, animations, music… all of which I can do myself.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Reaching a goal and overcoming obstacles during slow and down times.
