Meet Trailblazer Joilee Havner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joilee Havner.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Joilee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina a small town in the south. After earning my bachelor of science degree in Journalism & mass communicarion with a concentration in PR from University North Carolina A&T State Univeristy.

A month after graduating, I decided I needed to move to the west coast to fulfill my destiny as a digital media coordinator and a pr specialist. I went on to start my own pr company called LJROSE PR. I’ve resided in LA for 6 years now and I love it!

October of 2017 I curated GlowGirl Project. GlowGirl Project was created to motivate women to be their best selves. We focus on glowing from the inside out. Helping women reclaim their confidence though self-love & self-care.

The base of GlowGirl Project’s online subscription services offers women entrepreneurs development in both their personal and professional lives. We’ve created strategic success-driven resources to help you on your journey such as GlowGirl online masterclass series, sisterhood community, TrapYoga & GlowGirl Empowerment events.

You will gain the knowledge monetize your influence, grow your network, be successful in your industry and become empowered to achieve all your goals!

We guide and inspire women entrepreneurs worldwide to cultivate their success through influence, financial sustainability & wellness.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My advice for young women who have just started their journey in entrepreneurship would be to never give up on your dreams. The fear of failure stops a lot of women from actually going the extra mile and completing their goals. To achieve goals sometimes we must go through the struggle in order to get to the expected outcome.

However, the road is not always easy I’ve had bumps along the way as well. Consistency and drive and most importantly the ‘whys’ in my life push me to continue on my journey. I challenge you to stand up and fight for what is yours. God does not give you a dream that you do not have the capacity to fulfill.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about GlowGirl Project – what should we know?
I’m most proud of what we stand for as a brand. GlowGirl Project is about that woman entrepreneur who is about to give up, scared to start or doesn’t have a clue where to begin. We’ve been there and we get it! Our mission is to help women entrepreneurs and influencers monetize their brands.

What sets us apart is how we teach women and help them with their goals. We specialize in working with all types of women from single moms, to busy on the go women, to the corporate woman, to the business owner who wants to brand theirselves personally.

GlowGirl project also has a trap yoga series where we help women create healthy habits through wellness in business. Yoga meditation is a great way to let go of stress and exercise the body and the heart. This series encourages women to do include health in their daily routine and live a healthier lifestyle.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
Women that have inspired me in my life are Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou & Debra Lee. All three women have different stories and I connect with each of them in different ways.

My birthday sister Oprah Winfrey is such a constant source of inspiration for me. She sets the bar high and continues to raise it constantly. Her next move is always her best move.

Maya Angelou had such a way with words. Just like Oprah, I consider her a source of inspiration. She was just real and her phenomenal wisdom with such grace will always be embedded in my soul.

Deborah Lee former CEO of BET Network, Black entertainment television, is also a source of inspiration for me. I consider her to be an outstanding example of how to lead with confidence and creativity. We were both raised in Greensboro North Carolina and she definitely is someone that inspires me.
