Meet Trailblazer Carson Meyer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carson Meyer.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in Malibu, California and was lucky enough to be raised by an environmentalist who instilled in me an appreciation for nature and environmental health. In 2012, I moved to New York to attend NYU where I studied holistic wellbeing and creative expression at The Gallatin School of Individualized Study. This brought me to my first acting class. Meanwhile, the harsh east coast winters inspired me to create a product that would moisturize and nourish my dry skin. I started mixing organic ingredients from my kitchen pantry and created what is now the C & The Moon Malibu Made Body Scrub. In 2016 I moved back to Malibu and became a certified Birth Doula. I split my time between acting, birth work, and building my environmentally conscious skincare line C & The Moon.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel as though I am at the beginning of my journey. The beginning is never a smooth road. I learn something new through trial and error every day. Rejection is such a big part of life and work. I guess my advice would be to learn to be at peace with rejection. Not to let it get in your way and don’t be afraid to be more than one thing

Alright – so let’s talk about work. Tell us about C & The Moon – what should we know?
I am a Birth Doula, Actress, and the Founder of C & The Moon Skincare

As a birth doula, I have the honor of supporting families through pregnancy and childbirth. It is truly magical to witness the strength of a woman’s body and mind and to be a part of her transformative journey. I also offer birth photography where I endeavor to capture my clients’ experience.

I recently launched an all natural skincare line called C & The Moon. I am super proud of our debut product The Malibu Made Body Scrub. It is packaged in a reusable glass jar and made with organic botanicals. It not only exfoliates but also leaves skin moisturized all day long. It makes me so happy to know that people are spending time pampering themselves with a healthy product made with love!

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Absolutely! My mom teaches me so much about what it means to care for the planet. She shows me how to approach health from an integrative perspective and the power of community. My dad is extremely organized and has a very strong work ethic. He always says, “Assumption is the mother of all f*ck-ups”. Watching his approach to work and relationships teaches me so much. I am also lucky to have the most incredible siblings who I turn to all the time for advice and support.
