Meet Todd Leykamp of Leykamp Photography in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Leykamp.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Todd. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved out to Los Angeles from VA in 2006 and have been building my creative career ever since.

This business was started after I worked in television post production for over 10 years. A lot of photography finishing is done in the post production phase, so it has been a seamless transition into the new field.

I have done visual effects, color correction, and been Associate Producer for post departments on a variety of television shows. Some on the list are Fargo, Longmire, The Closer and others. My knowledge of color science comes from the time I spent as a colorist on independent films all over the world.

Photography has been a passion and a hobby my entire life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Building a brand is one of the hardest things to do. The market is saturated with photographer since the digital age, so standing out can be quite a challenge.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I would say the one comment I get over and over again is my personability. Making photo shoots relaxed and comfortable for the model or clients.

What were you like growing up?
I was a complete introvert growing up, but have taken a full 180 to become the person I am today. Instead of taking pictures of my dog Wolfie with my old film camera in the back yard. I am now out in the world taking pictures of anything and everything I find interesting.

• Photo Session: $150/Hour with a 30 min Min
• Photo Restoration: $40 – $200 based on the photo, free estimates on restoration and B&W coloring
