Today we’d like to introduce you to Taunya Tutt.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Taunya. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started this business due to the pandemic. My pastor , Pastor Shep Crawford, challenged us to not just sit and be idle but to be productive and find out what God‘s purpose is for you what his plan is for you and what your plan is for you so that’s what I did. I have always wanted to start my own business by creating my own makeup line as I am a freelance makeup artist but I work for the Los Angeles Superior Court working for them for 21 years.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My struggles are space and time. Right now, I live in an apartment and I don’t have the space for all of my supplies and everything so I’m crowded. I am also in school to get my bachelor’s degree in business administration so scheduling creating recipes for my skincare line versus school time and assignments versus an eight-hour job it’s a struggle.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is QueenTutt Cosmetics. It is a cosmetic line that I created all-natural things that are right in my kitchen that I can create and mix together no chemicals added like those that are in the store and it’s a natural skin Caroline that eventually, I will also be creating all-natural makeup line. What sets my company apart from others is again, it’s all natural and I don’t add any chemicals that give their product that long shelf life, natural things that you put on your skin will have a better effect and benefit on your skin and you’ll see the results versus the products that have a lot of chemicals.
What were you like growing up?
When I was growing up, I was a bit of a tomboy until I got into junior high school and begin experimenting with makeup and hair and hair products after that I’ve been in love with anything beauty my interests have always been in the beauty world I do hold a cosmetology license that I received from Los Angeles Trade Technical College and I also went to elegance international makeup school and acquired my knowledge and skill.
