Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Sylvera.
Tasha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Tasha Sylvera, and I’m a Los Angeles–based creator with a background in public health and nearly a decade of experience telling stories online. I actually started by filming YouTube videos in my bedroom, and over time that grew into building a community across platforms and helping brands show up authentically through user generated content or UGC.
In 2024, I was laid off from my full-time public health consulting role, and that moment really pushed me to bet on myself and go full time as a creator. What started as something I loved became my career, but as I continued working with brands, I realized I was craving something deeper, more connection, more meaning, and more real, human stories.
That shift became even more personal after my own wedding. The morning after, I found myself wishing I had more than just polished photos. I wanted the in-between moments, the laughter before the vows, the quiet time with my girls, the little memories you don’t realize you’ll miss until they’re gone.
That feeling is what led me to launch I Do Moments in May 2025. Through my business, I capture weddings and events as they’re truly experienced—intimate, emotional, and unfolding in real time. Using my iPhone and a trained eye, I deliver a full gallery within 24 hours and an edited recap within 48, so couples can relive their day almost immediately.
I’m also a proud Haitian woman, wife, dog mom, and pickleball enthusiast, and at the core of everything I do is the belief that people deserve to feel seen, celebrated, and remembered. That’s what I aim to give every couple I work with.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been that wedding content creation is still a relatively new space, so not everyone immediately understands the purpose or value. I’ve had to do a lot of educating, helping couples and even other vendors see that this isn’t replacing photography or videography, but enhancing the experience by capturing the real-time, in-between moments.
One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding content creation is that it’s only for influencers or couples who are focused on social media. In reality, it’s for anyone who wants to relive their day in a more immediate, candid, and personal way. Wedding content creators capture the in-between moments that traditional photo and video teams may not focus on, and deliver them quickly so couples can experience their wedding again almost right away. It’s less about posting and more about preserving the feeling of the day as it naturally unfolded.
Another layer has been navigating the wedding industry as a woman of color. There aren’t many of us in this space, especially within content creation, so there have been moments where I’ve felt the need to carve out my own lane and prove my value in rooms where I may not always be the default.
Building relationships as a newer wedding vendor has also come with its own learning curve. The industry is very referral-based, so establishing trust with planners and other vendors takes time, consistency, and showing up with excellence every single time.
But each of these challenges has really shaped how I show up in my business. It’s pushed me to be more intentional, more confident in my voice, and more committed to creating something that not only serves my couples, but also expands what this industry can look like.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about I Do Moments?
I’m the founder of I Do Moments, a Los Angeles–based wedding content creation service focused on capturing the behind-the-scenes, in-between moments that often go unseen. I document weddings and events (proposals, birthdays, baby showers, baptisms, corporate events, etc) as they naturally unfold, intimate, emotional, and in real time, using my iPhone and a storytelling approach rooted in authenticity.
What I specialize in is giving couples instant access to their memories. Within 24 hours, they receive a full gallery of raw, candid moments, and within 48 hours, a thoughtfully edited recap they can relive and share. It’s not about perfection, it’s about presence. The laughter before the ceremony, the quiet exchanges, the energy of the day as it’s actually experienced.
What sets me apart is both my perspective and my intention. I come from a background in public health and digital storytelling, and I approach this work with a deep understanding of emotional care, representation, and connection. As a former bride myself, I know firsthand how quickly the day passes, and that insight shapes everything I create.
I’m especially proud of building a brand that feels personal, warm, and culturally aware. In an industry where not everyone feels seen, I’m intentional about creating space for all kinds of love stories, and making sure my couples feel comfortable, celebrated, and truly reflected in their content.
More than anything, I want people to know that I Do Moments is about preserving feeling. Not just how your wedding looked, but how it felt to live it.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t view my journey through the lens of luck as much as I do faith, preparation, and obedience. As a Christian woman, I believe that what people often call “luck” is really God aligning opportunities in His timing. There have been moments in my life and business that may look like luck from the outside, getting laid off in 2024 and transitioning into entrepreneurship, or launching I Do Moments and gaining traction in a new and growing space, but I see those moments as answered prayers and divine redirection.
That doesn’t take away from the work, though. I believe deeply in stewardship, in showing up consistently, honing my craft, and being prepared when opportunities come. When preparation meets opportunity, that’s when things start to unfold in a meaningful way.
There have also been challenges that could be seen as “bad luck,” but even those moments have shaped me, strengthened my faith, and refined my purpose. I’ve learned to trust that nothing is wasted.
So for me, it’s less about luck and more about trusting God, doing the work, and staying ready for whatever doors He opens.
