Meet Sterling Rhyne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sterling Rhyne.

Hi Sterling, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For as long as I can remember, I loved to find different ways of expressing myself. Even though I was a painfully shy and quiet child, I found my voice through music and the art of performance. My mother and sister were very musical and there was three-part harmony constantly being sung around the house growing up.

While my dad didn’t sing, he is a very avid music listener and creative person, with a vast array of musical artists playing at any given time. I grew up listening to everything from Prince to The Cure to Björk and Bob Marley, it didn’t matter what genre or instrumentation – if it was good, it was playing. Growing up with all that music and in such a creative environment inspired me to continue on in creating a musical universe of my own and really made me passionate about how important art is to this human experience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is never a perfectly smooth road – one can still struggle even throughout our greatest victories. Everything worthy of pursuit is almost certainly filled with obstacles. For me, navigating the ever-changing landscape of the music industry has been a challenge, but ultimately releasing your creative vision into the world is always a personal victory.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a singer-songwriter, producer, storyteller and visual artist conceiving a universe with my creations. Right now, I am currently working on my debut album “Flare in the Midnight”, which is set to release next year and it has been in the works for the last few years, so it will be very satisfying to share it. I am also the founder and artist behind Cactus Lady Creation, where I share fiber art creations, patterns and tutorials.

How do you define success?
Success is standing in the light of who you are in order to truly blossom and bloom into who you are meant to be.
