Meet Jessica Senteno of Spirit High Dog Walking

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Senteno.

Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been surrounded by and loved animals. Whether it be my giant tortoise I had at age 2 or the first dog I had at age 5 I named Michael Jackson, I knew it would be the four-legged life for me.

Though in college, I studied and then worked in the fashion business, I always told myself it was a means to further my future goal of having an animal rescue farm. Several years later, when the grind of that industry became too much for me, I began to reconsider my path in life and again was naturally drawn to my first love of animals and caring for them.

I began working for and essentially training with a wonderful woman and dog walking company on the West side and 8 years later I’m even more in love with this “job” than I was before.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth… I’d say at times it can be very challenging. But the good always outweigh the bad. What other career can you have where every single client is ALWAYS happy to see you?! Though, if I did I have one struggle it would be the FUR! Buckets of it and endless amounts! haha It’s tougher to get rid of than glitter!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Spirit High Dog Walking – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Spirit High offers group hikes, private walks, boarding, in home care & day care. Whatever needs you and your pet may have, I try my hardest to fulfill.

I board at my home in Echo Park which makes for a very comfortable experience. No kennels or crates for these pups. I’m lucky if I get a spot on my own bed when we have our guests over! Haha

We have a safe and secure backyard, dog beds o’ plenty and my two rescue dogs to play with and put our furry friends at ease. When they are with us, they are family!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’d love to join forces with rescue agencies and assist in fundraisers & pet adoptions in hopes of holding a few of my own. I’m always looking for ways to bring awareness to pet causes!

The future always includes meeting and caring for tons of furry angels, aquatic cuties and any other creatures that need some special attention and love!

I feel so lucky to do what I do!
