Meet Sona Markosyan of Noorb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sona Markosyan

Sona , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Sona, the founder of Noorb, which translating from Armenian means gentle. My journey began when I moved from Armenia to the U.S. on a full scholarship to study at Bennington College in VT. After graduating in 2020, I moved to Los Angeles and started working at a law firm.

While adjusting to my new life, I struggled with hormonal acne exacerbated by stress. My turning point came when I began seeing a holistic esthetician and witnessed significant improvements in my skin. This transformative experience sparked a desire in me to make a more personal impact on others’ lives. I decided to pursue esthetician school to explore a holistic approach to skincare and wellness.

Noorb was created from my vision of promoting beauty from within, advocating for a gentle and holistic approach to skincare in a world often defined by harsh beauty standards. I wanted Noorb to be a daily reminder of kindness and positivity, both towards ourselves and others.

My spa room is located within the Center For Yoga, the oldest yoga studio in Los Angeles, a space imbued with history, collective energy, and healing. This unique environment complements my mission to help clients reset their nervous systems and find their inner glow, allowing their true beauty to shine through.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Once I started beauty school and clarified my career path, everything began to fall into place effortlessly. It felt as though the universe was aligning to help me pursue my true calling.

During my time at beauty school, I worked as a greeter at the Center for Yoga. There was this beautiful vacant room reserved for private yoga classes, which was not in active use at the time. From the moment I saw it, I was captivated by its potential. I had a strong sense that this would be the ideal space for my practice.

When I boldly approached my manager about renting the room, I was thrilled to receive approval to set up my practice there as soon as I obtained my license. The Center for Yoga community has been incredibly supportive, assisting with advertising Noorb and recommending my services.

In reflecting on my journey, I feel fortunate for how smoothly things have unfolded and deeply grateful for the support I’ve received.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Noorb?
At Noorb, I specialize in holistic facials that offer much more than just product application. My approach is designed to provide a comprehensive experience that nurtures both the skin and the soul. I incorporate techniques like lymphatic drainage, facial massage, buccal massage, aromatherapy, sound healing, and LED light therapy into each session.

What sets Noorb apart is my commitment to blending these diverse methods into one cohesive treatment. My goal is for clients to leave feeling not only refreshed but also deeply relaxed, centered, and lighter.

I’m particularly proud of the serene and healing environment I’ve created within my spa, located at the Center for Yoga, the oldest yoga studio in Los Angeles. This unique setting enhances the calming atmosphere of my services and aligns perfectly with my holistic philosophy.

I want clients to know that my facials are more than just treatments—they are immersive experiences designed to rejuvenate both the skin and the soul. My dedication to a gentle, restorative approach ensures that every visit is a step toward achieving radiant skin and inner tranquility.
