Today we’d like to introduce you to Bita Abdolmohammadi.
Bita, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After I moved to LA from San Francisco I was attending FIDM and through a friend I started working with a celebrity stylist on red carpet looks, music videos, and editorials. I loved everything about it and that slowly started my journey as a stylist. I’ve always had the eye and patience for curating looks so editorial and personal shopping were my favorite . Through the years my reputation has evolved to be known as the style consultant. With so many options to choose from I have mastered curating personalized looks for my clients.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve had the opportunity to work with some talented people but the road to growth and passion is never smooth. You have to learn to trust your instinct and do what you love. The rest falls into place.
Is there some part of you work that is particularly difficult?
“The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence”. – Charles Bukowski
The inability to listen deeply to your intuition is derived from fear which then manifests into doubts. Knowing what you want is the basis of having it figured out. Putting in motion how you want to achieve that, well that’s the beginning of the end.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Every individual’s definition of success varies. For me success is a vague word that defines what your personal goals are as an artist and as a business. I’m a true believer in order to achieve your goals you must try and fail until you no longer perceive a challenge or better yet a “set back” as failure. The creating, the growing process is the most gratifying. When you are insanely happy with what you do and continue on the path well that for me defines success. Most people wait for the big bang to happen, but if you look around you and observe it’s the small things that push you to continue doing more.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have just recently founded a creative agency with a dear friend of mine I met while working in New York. I, as founder and Anthony Figueroa as Co-founder merged our vision with intentions of designing a platform for us to extend our services to brands, designers, & individuals that are looking to steer away from the traditional ways of doing business. NOSMALLTALK was born on the premise of in depth conversations, dope ideas, and entrepreneurial lifestyles. We are excited to embark on this new adventure as with all of the support from our friends and clients we have observed there is a huge lack of authenticity and personability when working in the fashion/creative industry.
