Meet Shashwat Gupta of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shashwat Gupta.

Shashwat, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started with a dream a vision of myself on the big screen, like the actors I’ve always admired such as Al Pacino and Brad Pitt. I took a huge leap of faith, leaving behind a conventional path in engineering to pursue what I truly wanted. That decision led me to the Lee Strasberg Institute, without thinking twice about stability, money, or a “safe” career.

Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work on big commercials, including the Google Chrome ad, and with brands like Backbone Society and Puffco. While I haven’t yet reached the peak I envision for myself, this journey has taught me that choosing what you love brings a kind of fulfillment no safe choice ever could.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life has definitely not been a smooth road for me it’s been more like a roller coaster. There were times when I worked endlessly to prepare for an audition, even learning entire scripts within hours, only to never have my video looked at. I’ve booked roles and thought, “This is it, my time has come,” only to have everything fall apart right after. There were moments when I got the part, made it to the final fitting or look test, and then suddenly had it taken away.

These setbacks can be heartbreaking, but they’ve also taught me resilience. Every “no” has made me stronger, every disappointment has prepared me better for the next opportunity. I remind myself that I’m not a quitter I’m here to be a star. And while it takes time, patience, and an infinite amount of effort, I know the journey itself is shaping me into the artist I want to become

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actor, a model, and someone who is deeply into fitness. I take pride in taking care of myself, not just physically but also mentally, because I believe consistency and discipline are the foundation of success. I’m often recognized for my relentless drive for being the kind of person who doesn’t quit until he gets what he’s after.

What I’m most proud of are my parents. They’ve given me the values that guide everything I do: never give up, never think less of yourself, always believe in who you are, and go after what you truly deserve.

What sets me apart are my morals and beliefs. In an industry where it’s easy to lose yourself, I hold onto integrity, consistency, and self-belief. Those principles shape not just the work I do, but the person I am becoming.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is the day my dad surprised me with a car that had a sunroof. Growing up, I was obsessed with cars and always begged my dad to get one with a sunroof, but because of financial challenges, it wasn’t possible for us at the time.

One day after school, I saw a car pull up an XUV 500 and I thought, “That can’t be my dad, we don’t own that car.” But then the man inside kept smiling at me, and after a few seconds I realized it was him. He had surprised me with our new car.

That day is unforgettable. I remember going home standing through the sunroof, feeling like the happiest kid in the world. More than the car, it was the joy of sharing that moment with my dad we were both so proud and so happy. It’s a memory that will always stay with me.
