Hi Sharōn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a music business executive and wanted to shift careers to something that gave me satisfaction and allowed me to be of service to others. I’ve always loved concocting notions and potions since I was young and decided to enroll in the Esthetics program and immediately realized this was the right path for me. Being able to turn a hobby/passion into a career is a dream come true and I am so grateful to be able to do something I love, help people and make them happy, assist my clients in achieving their skincare goals, and constantly be learning. I feel lucky every day that my clients look forward to seeing me all month and entrust me with their skin. It’s truly an honor and a privilege that I never take for granted.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel like it’s been fairly smooth aside from a few bumps along the way–getting started and finding clients was challenging because I always worked for myself, but once I got word-of-mouth referrals going, that was it.
Obviously being closed for a total of 13 months during Covid was extremely challenging and required me to hard pivot and get really creative. That was extreme hardship financially and psychologically, so during that time I enrolled in a certification program to become a Holistic Nutritionist and am almost done with that program. This nutrition knowledge will allow me to deepen the benefits of what I can offer my skincare clients (a person’s diet/nutrition affects their skin directly) and allows me to offer nutritional sessions in person and virtually to clients all over the world. I suppose that is called turning covid lemons into lemonade… 🙂
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do highly customized skin care, utilizing organic products plus technology to perform results-oriented and also relaxing facials and peels. My specialty is customization and truly tailoring each treatment to the individual client’s unique skin care needs. I also pride myself on education– knowledge is power and I like to empower my clients to make the best decisions for their skin. I always tell clients I want them to understand how, why, when, where, and what is best for their skin and I don’t just say “because I said so”. It’s important for each client to know what their skin needs to be in balance and how to target their concerns and see the changes they desire for their skin.
Most facials are either all-natural but nothing happens, or are very clinical and aggressive on the skin–my goal from the start was to merge nature + science to create a perfectly balanced facial treatment that feels luxurious and relaxing but also creates immediate and cumulative results on the skin.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’ve been doing skin care for over 22 years and truly love utilizing my experience, expertise, and intuition to guide me in every skin care treatment. I listen to my client’s needs, and I help get them on the right path to achieve the results they want. I also love helping my clients choose the right products for home care to allow them to have the right tools they need to get the job done. There is no such thing as one size fits all; however many facials out there are the same for everyone who comes in, and I was determined to create a truly customized experience for each client I see.
My clients know that my agenda is truly to get them the healthiest skin they can have and to slow down the aging process, correct imbalances, and stimulate the skin’s own self-regulating processes. I am so passionate about skincare, ingredients, technologies, and techniques and love creating a unique treatment for each individual client’s needs.
