Meet Shanda and Shawniece Shepherd of INTERTWINE COLLECTION in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanda and Shawniece Shepherd.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Shawniece and I started off reconstructing women vintage clothing. Then we started styling for a Disney show called ‘Ant Farm’. We later decided to venture off and start Intertwine Collection. The number one tool that helped Intertwine Collection as a brand to develop was utilizing our Social Media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.

Nevertheless, introducing an e-commerce online store that carried a different variation of our styles and designs. All of these things translated to our consumers and celebrity clientele. Our customers were looking for statement pieces to stand out. Especially when there’s a special event such as birthdays, wedding, and day-to-day garments. We provided our customers with the utmost service that incorporates our vision of femininity and style.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road! Being an entrepreneurs takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice because it is all on you to make your business thrive. There are no sick days (off-days). It’s definitely different from having a storefront because a store location closes at a certain time. When online shopping is 24/7. Managing, buying, branding, back office and shipping is frustrating but yet very rewarding. Especially when you create different trends and other business owner copy exactly what have created/styled. We just take it as flattery and continue to pick and make powerful statement pieces and designs.

Please tell us about INTERTWINE COLLECTION.
We are Shanda and Shawniece Shepherd and the owners of Intertwine Collection Online Store. We are also identical twin sisters and were born in Belize City, Belize. Shanda received her Degree of Science in Health Care Admiration and Shawniece received her B.S in Business Admiration. We are proud to have taken what we knew from the business world and allow us to specialize in marketing, creative directors, and image consultants.

Shanda and I often rely on each other creative direction. We have different styles so we incorporate both of our styles for every season, which allows us to set ourselves apart from other stores. Shawniece specializes in more of the sophistication and I love the spicier garment. This has allowed us to touch a huge age range of 20-56.

We have gratefully been able to set ourselves apart from other stores because we added Intertwine Curve Collection (plus sizes 1x-4x). We are constantly adding to new collections to expands our website. We have new collections that are coming soon such as IntertwineMen and IntertwineMaternity. Growth is fundamental in the fashion industry.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If we could start all over, we wouldn’t do anything differently! We believe staying true to our vision, style, and design made it very vital to our growth. Shawniece responds God give us this vision and me the courage to quit my job to pursue our common goal of being fashion designer/buyers. Shanda states prayer and keeping God in our business has been key elements that allow us to continue to grow at a rapid pace.
