Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Fidgett.
Hi Scott, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really starts with having nothing. No family wealth, no roadmap, and no shortcuts. That might sound like a disadvantage, but for me it was the best training ground imaginable. When you don’t have a safety net, you quickly learn how to create your own opportunities.
I began working as a professional stuntman, which not only taught me discipline and resilience but also gave me the confidence to take risks. With the money I earned, I made my first big leap into business, investing in real estate and later starting an electronics company. That venture went from an idea to selling products in major UK retailers like Harrods, Maplin, and Men Kind, and it gave me my first taste of what it meant to scale something real.
From there, I leaned into what became my true passion: branding and marketing. I launched IWMD (Inch Wide Mile Deep) and eventually expanded into 1DS Collective and 1DS Management, working with influencers, athletes, and creators to build powerful ecosystems around their brands. Today, I work with people across fitness, wellness, biohacking, lifestyle, and beyond, helping them take raw ideas and turn them into something market-ready, scalable, and impactful.
What keeps me going isn’t just building businesses for myself, it’s showing others that it’s possible. I came from nothing, and I’ve built multiple companies across different industries. That’s the story I want to share, because if I can do it, anyone willing to put in the work and keep learning can do it too.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, but I wouldn’t change it.
In the beginning, every step felt like a fight. I didn’t have mentors or investors to lean on, so I made mistakes the hard way. My first businesses had moments of real success, but they also came with cash flow crunches, product issues, and liquidation.
One of the toughest challenges was learning how to balance ambition with patience. When you start with nothing, you want everything to happen yesterday. That urgency is great fuel, but it can also burn you out if you don’t learn how to pace yourself.
I also had to learn how to lead people, not just projects. Building a team, keeping morale high, and making sure everyone feels ownership is very different than hustling on your own. That took trial and error (and plenty of humility on my part).
Even today, the struggles don’t go away, they just change shape. But I’ve learned to look at obstacles as training. Every setback has sharpened my skills and forced me to get more creative. The smooth road doesn’t make you stronger, the rough one does.
As you know, we’re big fans of IWMD . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At IWMD and 1DS Collective/Management, we specialize in building ecosystems around creators, athletes, and entrepreneurs. Instead of chasing trends, we go deep, helping our clients grow authentic brands, scale their social presence, and turn influence into sustainable businesses. What sets us apart is our “inch wide, mile deep” approach: focusing intensely on what works, and building from there.
What’s next?
For me, the future is about scale and impact. I’ve proven that I can build businesses from the ground up, and now the focus is on expanding that reach, both for myself and for the people I work with.
On the brand side, I’m building out new divisions within 1DS and IWMD to help creators and athletes not just grow their influence, but also launch their own products, expand into new markets, and create businesses that live well beyond social media.
On the personal side, I’m looking forward to financial freedom, paying off properties, acquiring more cash-flowing assets, and ultimately creating the stability that I didn’t grow up with. At the same time, I want to inspire people by showing what’s possible when you start with nothing and build piece by piece.
Big picture: I see my companies evolving into a hub where influence, entrepreneurship, and creativity meet. Whether it’s helping launch a new supplement brand, managing an NFL athlete’s ecosystem, or scaling a YouTuber’s channel into a business, the goal is always the same, growth with depth, not hype.
