Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarkis Kbjian.
Sarkis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been a creative person. Studied the art of oil painting and watercolors since I was 9 years young. Often times, I was asked to paint still flowers. Seeing the details and textures in my artwork inspired me to paint more flowers. With that, my love for arts, and design grew larger. Since my parents had a floral wholesale business, I was able to implement my ideas and add a sister company called Avant Garden Floral & Events Design.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being self-taught, there were a lot of challenges. I had to learn the trades of the business. Become more flexible to my business needs and clientele.
My advice is to follow what you are most passionate about. Write your ideas down and work hard. Believe in yourself and your craft. Don’t be afraid to set yourself apart by striving to be unique so that people will notice you and want to be a part of your journey.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Avant Garden Floral & Event Design – what should we know?
At Avant Garden, we create memorable occasions as a high end, luxury brand. My specialty is Floral & Event Designs. We are known as Event Planning visionaries. In addition, we have an online boutique for individual floral arrangements. I am most proud of designing events that bring joy and everlasting memories to peoples lives.
Our belief is that floral design is a unique combination of science and art. By combining different types of premium flowers, we add texture to out designs and set ourselves apart by getting noticed not only by our client’s friends and family but editorial magazines, celebrities and other types of companies who want to collaborate with their business.
