Meet Sandra Chahayed of Floral Expression by Sandra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Chahayed.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was looking for work after I graduated high school. I was walking around a shopping center and happened to walk into a flower shop. I didn’t think I would ever be working in such a place as my dream has always been to be a doctor. I started talking to the manager a few minutes later she offered me the job. Ever since then, I have had a passion for flowers. I am a self-taught florist and have come a long way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most things in life, there are always ups and downs. Not having any experience proper training or background in flowers or owning a business was a struggle. Someone with a better understanding of the workings of a business might find it a little easier. But hard work a passion for The Craft and the desire to keep pushing to the top will outweigh those struggles.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Floral Expression, our specialty is a unique one of a kind arrangements for all your special occasions and events. Our top seller is our customized boxed floral arrangements.

The thing I am most proud of is how much myself and the shop has grown.

What sets the shop apart from others is how the shop is run. We try to make sure each customer taking care of and treated with kindness.

How do you think about luck?

I strongly believe in what you put out into the universe will come back to you. If you put out good energy, kindness and love then you really don’t need luck.

Although I do feel lucky, we were able to stay open and afloat during the pandemic. I am eternally grateful for the love and support.
