Today we’d like to introduce you to Triana Pardon.
Triana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started taking pictures when I was very young. It all started with family vacations. My mother wanted us to be well-traveled and experience other cultures and I would always want to be the one to document our trips. I fell in love with photography and the rest is history.
Has it been a smooth road?
Trying to be successful through my photography and art alone is definitely a hustle. It’s hard to make it as a full-time artist in L.A but, then again, I don’t think anyone really expects to. We all have our day jobs that we hate and that’s fine. At least we have art.
What’s your outlook for the industry over the next 5-10 years?
I plan on collaborating my photography business with other artists of a different media to offer more services to clients such as video production/editing, graphic design, and screen printing and embroidery work.
Has there been a particular challenge that you’ve faced over the years?
Affording photography equipment has always been a challenge for me because it can get really expensive. I’ve had flash units break or burn out on me which has hindered me from shooting indoor events.
Let’s change gears – is there any advice you’d like to give?
Photography is a very competitive business. Having the passion to create photography is key. You have to work a lot for free. Also, spending the time and money it takes to help market your business will help tremendously.
