Meet San Fernando Valley Photographer: Pompey Demby

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pompey Demby.

Pompey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had an interest in cameras ever since I was a child and decided to take a photography course in high school to keep my passion alive. It wasn’t until my wife and I had experienced one of our hardest moments in our life that pushed me to turn my passion into a profession.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it definitely wasn’t a smooth road. Some of the challenges we have experienced are keeping the number of clients consistent being that we are a new company and finding our worth in this market of business.

Is there some part of you work that is particularly difficult?
The hardest part of my business would have to be initiating meeting my clients. I’m a “people” person, but I want to make sure my client’s experience is a great one from beginning to end.

What are you striving for, what criteria or markers have you set as indicators of success?
I personally define success first, with being completely happy with what I’m doing. Success also would be, knowing your establishment can provide for your children and their children for years to come.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for my future is to start a production company where I will be able to direct and produce films and to be recognized with the biggest names of producers and directors.
