Today we’d like to introduce you to REBELLE.
Hi REBELLE, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Croatia, and my musical journey started really young—I performed at children’s festivals, competitions, and even on Croatia’s Got Talent when I was 10, placing sixth. In high school, I focused on classical singing and music theory, which gave me strong technique and a foundation in musicality. One of the biggest turning points was playing the main villain in Croatia’s first musical, The Music of My Heart. It was the first time I performed outside of classical singing in a long time, and it sparked my desire to explore commercial music.
After high school, I took a year off to work and save for college, then moved to the U.S. to study Vocal Performance (commercial) so I could create my own music and grow as an artist. Since then, I’ve been fully immersed in performing, songwriting, and collaborating with other musicians. I’ve also released my latest single, TBDD, and I’m really proud of how it represents my sound and artistic growth.
My journey has been about discovering my voice, experimenting with different styles, and finding a way to make music that truly connects with people. Every step—early competitions, classical training, musicals, and now commercial music—has shaped me into the artist I am today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly, it hasn’t always been smooth. Money is always a challenge, especially as an independent artist—you have to get really creative, network a lot, and collaborate wherever you can. But there’s something so rewarding about making something you love and then putting your resources back into it. Sometimes, I deal with insecurities, comparison, blocks (…)—they’re frustrating, but I’ve learned to see them as opportunities to push myself and grow. I’m really grateful for all the struggles, because they’ve shaped who I am as an artist and made me even more determined to keep going.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a professional singer, performer, and songwriter, and I also teach voice and piano at a school here in LA. People know me for my groovy sound, colorful and flashy performances, and music that makes you want to dance. I’ve been part of a tribute band, gig a lot, put on my own shows, and even have my music played on the radio. Along the way, I’ve made jingles for a radio station in Croatia, sung background vocals for Dennis Quaid at the 31st Movieguide Awards, competed on Croatia’s Got Talent when I was just 10 years old and placed sixth, and most recently, I graduated college in March.
In August, I released my latest single, ‘TBDD (Til the Beat Drops Down),’ which I’m really proud of. It’s already close to 10K streams across platforms, and I’m working on the music video now. I’ve also released three singles before this, performed all over—from LA venues like Hotel Café, The Mint, and The Laugh Factory, to San Diego country clubs, Ontario County, Vienna, and music venues in Croatia—and I’ve even written a song for a short film called Almost Famous and starred in it as the performer. On top of that, I’ve worked as an executive director on several music video projects and held many solo concerts both in Croatia and LA.
What I’m most proud of right now is definitely ‘TBDD,’ because it feels like the beginning of a new chapter for me as an artist. My music is inspired by disco legends and modern icons like Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and Usher—but what sets me apart is that no matter where I perform, I will always give you a show. I adjust to the venue and the audience’s energy, but there’s always that ‘Rebelle spice’—the flashy outfits, the catchy songs, the unapologetic lyrics, a little bit of unserious fun, and above all, an experience that makes people dance, feel better, and just let go.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now, I’m really focused on locking in my sound and just growing as a musician. I spend a lot of time studying music, writing and rewriting, and drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources—old-school R&B and disco, modern R&B, pop, dance, and even alternative and psychedelic genres. I’ve been in a lot of sessions too, just watching musicians build songs from scratch and co-writing with them, which has been super inspiring and educational. I’m also always practicing my vocals and pushing myself, because I feel like the learning never really stops. It’s about sustaining that growth, releasing more music, and eventually creating an album that makes people dance, feel better, and unapologetically own and express themselves.
