Meet Raychel Anderson of Woodland Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raychel Anderson

Hi Raychel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How I got to where I am today is a testament to resilience, passion, and the power of never giving up. Growing up wasn’t easy; I faced more than my share of storms, but I learned early on to be unapologetic and fiercely resilient. I never allowed my past to define my future or limit how I showed up for myself and others. Creativity became my anchor—an outlet that allowed me to heal, grow, and express myself. Artistry and self-expression truly saved my life.

My journey with words and poetry led me to self-publish my first poetry book while I was living abroad in France. Those years abroad nurtured my creativity, and I was able to tap into a well of inspiration. But shortly after returning to LA, Covid-19 hit, and I found myself, like so many others, in a place of uncertainty. I felt mentally, emotionally, and creatively stuck, questioning what was next and how to find my footing.

That’s when I stumbled into jewelry making, frankly by accident. It started as a hobby I picked up from YouTube—a pandemic pastime, really, but one that became so much more. Working with clay captivated me, from choosing color palettes to crafting something by hand. It was therapeutic, grounding, and exactly what I needed at that time. The act of turning raw materials into something beautiful became a new way to express myself, to bring an idea into physical form.

After countless failed attempts, I finally mastered the techniques, and Sure-Fire Studio was born. What began as a hobby turned into a business rooted in creativity, resilience, and joy. Today, my pieces reflect that journey—they’re symbols of persistence, self-expression, and the beauty of finding purpose in unexpected places. I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, and I hope my story and creations inspire others to pursue what lights them up, no matter where they start.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Truthfully, some of the biggest challenges I faced were finding balance between the creative and operational sides of my business. When I’m immersed in designing and crafting my jewelry, I’m in my element—it’s pure bliss. But as a solopreneur, I wear every hat required to grow and scale a business, and that weight can be overwhelming. There were days when my focus had to shift from creating to promoting on social media, networking, and applying for local markets and pop-ups. By the time I returned to making my jewelry, I often felt drained, which became a real obstacle.

Creating with intention is core to my work; I handcraft each piece with purpose, and I want that energy to shine through. So, if my energy feels off, I hesitate to create because I don’t want stress to seep into my art. Learning to overcome this, to find a rhythm that allows me to honor both the art and the business, has been transformative.

Another major hurdle was stepping out fearlessly, allowing myself to be seen and fully believing in my vision. Overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome was a journey of its own, but it was a necessary one. Embracing the challenges rather than shying away from them has made me who I am today. I wouldn’t change a single part of my journey. Every obstacle has deepened my appreciation for where I am now and has fueled my excitement for what lies ahead. This experience has taught me balance and confidence, and I’m so grateful for the journey that’s brought me here.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I design and handcraft jewelry from clay and hypoallergenic materials, creating pieces that radiate a bohemian chic vibe with earthy tones and an alternative take on geometric shapes. Each piece I make offers something unique, a way for someone to express themselves through style and wear something truly one-of-a-kind. My jewelry is more than just an accessory it’s wearable art, a celebration of individuality.

I’m passionate about elevating the perception of clay jewelry, transforming it into something luxurious yet accessible, made to be cherished in both everyday moments and special occasions. Every piece is crafted with intention and care. There isn’t a single part of the process that doesn’t pass through my hands. I pour myself into each creation, infusing it with love, creativity, and a dedication to quality that I hope shines through to those who wear it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I am a firm believer in the power of energy. What you put out into the universe; she returns to you tenfold. From an early age, I learned to see the glass as always half full, gratitude is essential. While I acknowledge that luck may play a role at times, I believe there’s so much more at work. Luck alone doesn’t account for the magic of this journey.

When it comes to my business, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing some incredible milestones. One of my proudest moments was having my jewelry sold to a wholesale buyer set to sell in a boutique in Japan. I also had the honor of collaborating with Anthropologie, where my pieces were featured at one of their pop-up events. To me, these moments aren’t just lucky breaks but they’re the result of hard work, positive energy, and divine timing.
