Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Lilith Carrillo
Raven Lilith, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Raven Lilith Carrillo, and I was born on January 3rd, 2006. My childhood was marked by hardship due to my abusive father, who subjected me to unimaginable experiences when I was young. Life appeared to me as a gray, joyless world where nothing could bring a genuine smile to my face. At a tender age, I faced bullying and received diagnoses of anxiety and depression.
As time went on, my struggles continued. I encountered academic challenges, resulting in poor grades. When I was ten years old, my mother and I made a crucial decision: we left my father’s house. His deteriorating mental state and violent rage compelled us to escape that toxic environment. We sought refuge at my grandparents’ home.
In 2020, my life took an unexpected turn. I enrolled in a new school, and it was there that everything changed. A school project ignited my passion for self-expression through music. This newfound outlet became my solace—a way to navigate the complexities of my emotions and experiences.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, alot of bigger artists said I’d never be successful, and tried to do the most to take me down, my family didn’t support me much either, and as a transgender woman in Mexico things been a bit rough. When I embarked on my creative path, I encountered skepticism from established artists. They dismissed my potential and actively tried to threaten my progress. Their negativity fueled my determination to prove them wrong, another thing is, in my opinion Family support is crucial for any pursuit. Unfortunately, my family didn’t fully embrace my dreams. Their lack of encouragement weighed heavily on my heart, but I learned to find strength within myself, and yeah, also, Navigating Transgender Identity in Mexico: As a transgender woman in Mexico, I faced unique challenges. Society’s prejudices and discriminatory attitudes tested my resilience. Yet, I persisted, knowing that authenticity and self-expression were worth the struggle, im also conscious that in got Resilience and Perseverance: Despite the odds, I refused to give up. Each setback became a stepping stone. I discovered my inner resilience, fueled by passion and a desire to create something meaningful.

Versatility in Genres: I thrive on diversity. My music spans across genres, from haunting ballads to high-energy rave anthems. Whether it’s soulful jazz, gritty rock, or pulsating electronic beats, I embrace the full spectrum. Vocal Range: My vocals are a canvas. I can seamlessly transition between: Relaxed Laid-Back Vibes: Picture a dimly lit room, soft melodies, and introspective lyrics. I’ll croon with a soothing touch. Super Aggressive Energy: When the beat drops, I unleash raw power. My vocals pierce through, fueled by intensity and emotion. Production Wizardry: Behind the scenes, I weave sonic magic. My production skills are my secret weapon. From crafting intricate beats to layering ethereal synths, I create immersive soundscapes. Not only that, I’ve also worked with top producers on the industry while doing all this in my room with a cheap USB microphone, being able to reach more than decent quality on my mixes and masters
