Meet Peter Araiza of Anaheim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Araiza.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Araiza Events began with my wife and me — both professional salsa dancers who spent years performing, teaching, and bringing people together through music and movement. Over time, we realized that the same energy, precision, and connection that made dance so powerful were often missing from events. We saw an opportunity to create experiences that truly move people — not just through music, but through seamless coordination, thoughtful details, and genuine celebration.

What started as a passion for entertainment evolved into Araiza Events — a full-service DJ, Photo Booth, and event management company built on rhythm, community, and creativity. Today, we bring that dancer’s passion and performer’s eye for timing and flow to every wedding, corporate event, and celebration we’re part of.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but every challenge has shaped who we are today. When we first transitioned from professional salsa dancers to event professionals, we had to learn an entirely new industry from the ground up. We knew how to read a crowd and create energy, but running a business meant mastering logistics, marketing, and operations — all while staying true to the creativity that started it all.

There were long nights, countless trials, and moments of uncertainty — especially when the momentum we had built just before COVID came to an abrupt stop. Navigating the post-COVID landscape was one of our toughest challenges, as we had to rebuild, adapt, and find creative ways to keep our passion alive.

Our current struggle has been launching our mobile espresso bar, “And, Then Coffee.” It added another layer of learning — balancing the artistry of espresso with the precision of events. But in the end, every struggle reminded us why we started: to create experiences that bring people together, whether through music, movement, or a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What my wife and I are known for is connecting with people. We create a human experience that allows me to build relationships, earn trust, and truly understand what our clients want and need. We specialize in crafting events that aren’t just memorable, but meaningful, filling a gap that’s often missing in celebrations — that sense of connection, flow, and personal touch.

I’m most proud of the way we’ve turned our passion for music, dance, and hospitality into experiences that bring people together. Our background as professional artist gives us a unique sense of personal touch and energy that we bring to every event. What sets us apart is our ability to read a room, understand our clients, and create an atmosphere where everyone feels engaged, celebrated, and genuinely connected.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My biggest supporter and advisor has always been my wife, Jenny. She’s not only my partner in life but also my biggest cheerleader and sounding board, helping me make decisions, navigate challenges, and stay true to our vision. Her insight, encouragement, and unwavering belief in what we’re building have been invaluable to our growth.
Beyond Jenny, many of our past clients have become like family to us. Over the years, we’ve maintained close relationships with clients who have been with us since our humble beginnings, and their trust, loyalty, and referrals have played a huge role in our success. They’ve celebrated milestones with us, offered feedback, and helped us grow both personally and professionally. It’s truly a community effort, and we’re grateful for every person who has believed in us along the way.
