Today we’d like to introduce you to Parkerkennedy2609@gmail.com Parkerkennedy2609@gmail.com.
Hi parkerkennedy2609@gmail.com, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began my career journey in 1980, shortly after graduating from high school. My original plan was to join the U.S. Navy through a buddy program with my cousin; however, when she was unable to pass the physical due to pregnancy, my plans changed unexpectedly. Around that same time, I applied for a position at AT&T, located next door to the recruiter’s office, and was hired as a cashier in a phone center store, where I processed customer bill payments. I worked there for several years, gaining valuable customer service and administrative experience.
I later returned to college and earned my Associate of Arts degree, which opened the door for me to pursue my passion for healthcare. Over the years, I obtained certifications as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Paramedic, working in each of these roles for many years and gaining extensive hands-on clinical experience.
Today, I serve as a Healthcare Office Manager, a role that requires 24/7 communication with caregivers and clients to ensure quality care and continuity of services. While the position is demanding, it is deeply rewarding. I take pride in supporting caregivers in their careers and advocating for individuals with disabilities, knowing that my work makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My career and life have never followed a straight path. Instead, they unfolded through many detours—much like ocean waves rolling endlessly toward the shore. I rode every wave that came my way, and at times, I was pulled under. There were moments when I struggled deeply and had to fight my way back, relying on the support of therapy and dedicated medical professionals to regain my footing and my life.
Those experiences reshaped my understanding of resilience, empathy, and leadership. I learned firsthand that life continues to move forward whether we pause or persevere. We are faced with a choice: to continue growing and adapting, or to stop while the world moves ahead without us. This awareness has profoundly influenced how I lead and how I support others.
As adults, we are continuously learning—daily, and sometimes hourly—whether through professional responsibilities, personal challenges, or unexpected change. When I re-entered society after my recovery, I often felt as though I had stepped into a “twilight zone,” relearning how to navigate a world that had not slowed down. That period strengthened my patience, adaptability, and compassion, qualities that are essential in healthcare leadership.
Today, these lived experiences allow me to lead with authenticity, understanding, and grace. I recognize that caregivers, clients, and colleagues all carry unseen struggles. My leadership style reflects a deep respect for that reality, emphasizing support, communication, and perseverance—because I know firsthand that healing,
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck—both good and bad—has played a meaningful role in my life and in the way I manage my home health care business. There were moments early in my journey when unexpected circumstances redirected my path entirely. What may have seemed like bad luck at the time often became the reason I developed adaptability, persistence, and problem-solving skills that are essential in healthcare leadership.
In business, I’ve learned that “luck” often shows up as timing—staffing changes, regulatory shifts, client needs, or unforeseen challenges. In home health care, these moments are unavoidable. I don’t rely on luck to carry the organization forward, but I do believe that preparation determines how opportunity presents itself. Being accessible, responsive, and grounded allows me to turn unexpected situations into learning experiences rather than setbacks.
Personally, some of the most difficult periods of my life forced me to step away, recover, and rebuild. While those experiences could easily be labeled as bad luck, they ultimately strengthened my empathy, patience, and leadership capacity. They gave me a deeper understanding of what clients, caregivers, and families experience when life takes an unexpected turn.
I consider good luck to be the people who entered my life at critical moments—mentors, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and clients who trusted me. That trust is something I never take for granted. In my role as a healthcare manager, I work every day to honor it by showing up consistently, making thoughtful decisions, and leading with integrity.
Ultimately, luck may open or close doors, but sustained success in healthcare comes from resilience, accountability, and compassion. Those are the values that guide my leadership and define how I run my business.
