Meet Rhys Kelly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhys Kelly.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rhys. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out being obsessed with Fine Art in High school (it was truly the only place where I 100% fit in). When it came time to find a college, I came across a Special FX school that taught prosthetics, sculpting and specifically how to make fake eyes & teeth. Once I became in love with painting eyes, I decided to turn it into a business. I began creating eyeball wall art and jewelry for family and friends – before I knew it, I was the Founder of Rhys Kelly LLC. My story is still currently being told and I’ve been enjoying every moment of it.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish I could say it has been a smooth road, but there’s totally been (and continues to be) obstacles and challenges along the way. I’d say the main obstacle has been turning my art into a business. I’ve never been a salesperson – I’m very introverted, so it’s been challenging to put a price on something that comes from my heart while also trying to sell it.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize and am known for Hand-Painting Eyeballs in a variety of different colors and sizes. I am most proud of having a company that leads with the heart while embracing each person’s uniqueness and individuality. What sets Rhys Kelly apart from others is that everything is truly 100% personalized/handmade for our customers. Also, that love & positive vibrations radiate off of everything – even the packaging 🙂
