Meet Noah of Bahamii

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah.

Hi Noah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Bahamii with my brothers. We were inspired by our great-grandmother, who had a huge sweet tooth but always looked for healthy options to fit her dietary restrictions. Her favorite snack was dates.

We took that idea and made dates the main ingredient in our Date & Almond bars to make eating them more convenient. Our bars have no added sugar, no preservatives, and no harmful ingredients. They’re low glycemic index and diabetic-friendly.

Today, we’re expanding into more retail locations, online platforms, and other distribution channels.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This is my first venture, so every step of the way has come with challenges. From formulating the recipe myself in my home kitchen where I broke two blenders, to designing and creating packaging that meets FDA standards and regulations, everything was a learning process. We also had to spend a lot of time finding the right manufacturing partner who could produce Bahamii the way we envisioned it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As part of Bahamii, I have spent the last four years mentoring kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Los Angeles, teaching them how I started Bahamii. This has grown into a professional ten-week course under our Youth Venture Program (YVP). Each kid learns how to start their own business, and by the end of the course, they create a ten-page pitch deck. They then present their ideas shark tank style to me and other staff members for the chance to receive seed funding.

So far, we have awarded several grants to help kids launch their own businesses, and I plan to continue building this program as Bahamii grows.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have had many mentors during my growth and development with Bahamii. They prefer to stay private, but their guidance has been invaluable.

In addition, my two brothers have played a big role in helping me grow and start the business. They have been by my side through the highs and lows, offering support and helping me think through key decisions. While they are not involved in the daily operations, they continue to be a great sounding board as we grow Bahamii.
