Today we’d like to introduce you to Mrhure .

Hi MrHure , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started doing graffiti in Istanbul in 2000. Since then, I have left my works in various cities around the world. After 2015, in addition to graffiti, I also began creating abstract works in public spaces. Alongside my street art, I started working in a multidisciplinary way, exploring different mediums such as canvas and ceramics. Currently, I draw inspiration from Los Angeles for my creations.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, it wasn’t like that. In the country where I started, graffiti was not a well-known or popular art form like it was in the rest of the world. In the early days, it was up to us to gain acceptance for it, and achieving that took time.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Graffiti, which was the most important factor in my journey here, is now something I do as a hobby. Because it is my hobby, I feel much freer. In my art, I incorporate graffiti along with the marks that people consciously or unconsciously leave on walls into my paintings and murals. Beyond that, I create works by referencing architectural forms and the traces and shapes left by nature, aiming to reflect my era in my art. My goal is to present both the challenges and beauties of my time so that they can be seen together in the future. I also strive to create a balance of colors by using compositions and color combinations that are not naturally harmonious. For me, every trace in the environment—not just those left by the artist—serves as a roadmap. That’s why my ability to incorporate not only positive but also negative traces into my work may be the most defining feature that sets me apart from others.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My observational and research skills, along with the fact that my ideas can evolve with the times, might be my most important qualities.
