Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Bull.
Hi Meredith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It’s interesting where life can take you….I once was staunchly opposed to vitamin IV bars, yet now I own one! As a naturopathic doctor, I learned about IV nutrient therapies during my medical training, but at the time I was pretty medically conservative and sided with conventional critics who dismissed IV therapy as “expensive urine.” Fast forward almost ten years and I can say this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Early in my career I worked alongside a physician who used IV therapies extensively with their patients. In this time I watched patients that had failed conventional medicine, struggling with chronic illnesses like Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, Crohn’s disease, chronic fatigue, etc., find real, tangible relief with IV therapies. Even if it was just for a few days or a week, IV treatments gave them hope, stability, and a foothold in their healing process. Over time, fewer infusions were needed as they were on their way to recovery. Witnessing this, I realized how powerful these therapies could be when used appropriately and thoughtfully.
From this, I began referring my own patients for IV treatments when I thought they would benefit from it, and one of the clinics I trusted most, Infuse Wellness, invited me to bring my practice into their space. Some time later I was asked if I wanted to take over the whole business. It was a natural fit, so here I am, coming up on a year of ownership. I still don’t love the concept of most IV bars largely due to the lack of oversight in the space at present, but when done right it can be a safe and effective way for people to support their own health, and Infuse in an example of that.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Admittedly, this road has not been easy and I feel I am “back in the grind”, a period of career development I was hoping to be done with. But owning a business is as much a journey of personal growth as it is a professional one, and I have welcomed the challenges it has presented me with; they show me what I am capable of and where I still have work to do. They also test my faith in my own beliefs – for me that is trusting that everything I encounter in life is happening in a way that is for me, not against me, and learning to go with the flow, trusting everything is unfolding as it’s supposed to. The messiness can serve you if you let it.
When Infuse Wellness first opened a decade ago it was one of the few businesses of its kind. Now, especially in Los Angeles, nutrient IVs are not a novel concept. The challenge for me is redefining what makes Infuse stand apart, and that’s building something rooted in expertise, integrity, and true care. These qualities matter deeply to me and will build the community I hope Infuse Wellness to become. Not all IVs are created equal and my goal is to become a trusted, knowledgeable resource for those who truly want to understand and benefit from these therapies. This is playing the long game in business, which is a challenge at times, but the only one that feels right to me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Infuse Wellness?
Infuse Wellness is an IV wellness center that has been a part of the Santa Monica community for over 10 years. I am currently the fourth owner of Infuse and excited the business is back in the hands of someone who is truly passionate about these therapies (and an expert in them) versus the investment opportunity it has served in the past, and as most other IV businesses operate. I am proud that Infuse Wellness is run with integrity, treating these treatment tools as the medical treatments they are, and delivering quality services often provided by me as I am on site most days. This level of care, expertise, and hands-on commitment is not something you will find at other IV establishments. In addition to general wellness IVs and injections including NAD+ and glutathione (two of my favorite supportive therapies), we also offer a range of prescription-based treatments including IV iron and iron injections, phosphatidylcholine for cardiovascular health and cellular support, ozone for immune health, heavy metal chelation, and high-dose vitamin C. Many of our patients come to us with IV prescriptions from their own integrative providers, which we’re happy to fulfill safely and skillfully. All treatments are performed in private rooms, and we have the bonus of free parking in our back parking lot!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I value integrity and this is something that matters to me in how I move forward in life. I feel integrity helps guide you and maintain a sense of self in a world where we are constantly inundated with information and opinions, and it has helped attract like-minded people into my life that I can trust and lean on when needed. I also value patient care that addresses the individual; everyone is unique and deserves detailed attention when it comes to their health. This is why I pursued a career as a naturopathic doctor versus the conventional path, and I get a lot of joy out of working with patients through my private practice the I operate alongside Infuse Wellness.
