Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Berger.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the world of therapy and becoming an author began with a deep appreciation for growth, creativity, and being of service to others. I’ve always been curious about the human experience—how we heal, how we grow, and how we come to understand ourselves. When I personally experienced the power of the therapeutic process, it inspired me to pursue this path professionally.
Today, I’m a registered associate therapist working with adults and children. While each client I meet teaches me something new, one universal theme I’ve noticed is the impact of self-limiting beliefs—particularly the belief of “I’m not enough.” Whether it shows up as I’m not lovable enough, smart enough, attractive enough, or something else, this message often takes root in childhood and can shape a person’s reality.
That’s what led me to write my first children’s book, It Is Safe To Be Me. The message is simple but important: you are lovable, and you are enough, just as you are, and you were born that way. The book teaches kids how to develop healthy self-talk, because the thoughts and words we tell ourselves—especially the ones we repeat daily and throughout our early development years—become some of the most important messages we ever hear.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—it’s had its bumps. One of my biggest challenges has been holding myself accountable and working through a fear of failure, especially when it came to publishing my children’s book. Between working full-time as a therapist, being in a master’s program, and managing everything else that comes with life, my book kept getting pushed to the back burner.
At one point, I had get very honest with myself. It wasn’t just about being busy—it was about fear. I realized I wasn’t prioritizing my book because deep down, I was afraid. I kept thinking, What if I put all this effort into it, and nothing comes of it? What if it doesn’t succeed?
And then it hit me: by not trying, I was already failing.
I accepted that I cannot control the outcome of publishing a book—but I can control the effort I put in. I decided to redefine what success and failure meant to me. Success became about following through. It became about honoring the voice of my younger self—the one who was guiding me throughout the process. Publishing It Is Safe To Be Me was about doing something meaningful, healing, and creative, not just for others, but for the younger version of me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a Registered Associate Therapist, I specialize in providing personalized, client-centered care using an eclectic therapeutic approach. I tailor my client sessions to meet the unique needs, goals, and experiences of the individual.
One of the core aspects of my work is helping clients explore their subconscious patterns and internal narratives. By fostering deeper self-awareness, I support clients in uncovering the “why” behind their behaviors, emotions, and decision-making.
I’m most proud of the moments when awareness leads to transformation, and clients begin to feel more grounded, aligned with their values, and in control of their lives. What sets me apart is that I always strive to meet people where they are, adapting my therapy style as I listen to my clients to support their growth.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was playful, creative, and endlessly curious. I loved finding ways to express myself—whether through art, writing, or fashion. My creativity and curiosity have always been a big part of who I am. Looking back, these parts of my personality naturally shaped the work I do today, and continue to guide how I show up in both my personal and work life.
