Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Cash.
Matt, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started in the basement of my friends house in the small village of Park Forest, IL. My friends already had a group and were doing pretty well in the music scene. I would go over to their house and help them record, not knowing a thing about engineering. As time went on, I watched hundreds of youtube tutorials, spent endless nights in the studio, and got absolutely no sleep. But, I became very quick and immaculate at engineering. Eventually, I got bored with just recording, so I started to write and record myself over beats that they were using. Fast forward, I got good enough to actually show someone my creativity and they approved. After college, I moved to LA to pursue a career in entertainment. About month in, I was on Craigslist and saw an opportunity with the headline “Do you want to be a star?” Of course I do! So I signed up for a music competition show, won it, and from that point on I realized that I had what it took to do this. After that I joined forces with some business partners and we made music for tons of people. Still not satisfied with where I was at, I met the CEO of Zeus Network and he gave me a chance to show him what I had to offer. Lets just say miracles were made… and the rest is history in the making.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth anything is smooth. Let’s just start with that. One of the biggest struggles I encountered was figuring out how to stay in LA in order to be around the opportunities that existed. Making money and focusing on a craft all while having no family to help, is VERY tough. But, it is not impossible. If you want something bad enough you will move with extreme focus and grit. Eventually, with enough drive and passion, things will align for you in some way or another.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artist. I take ideas from my mind, create them out of thin air, and put them into the universe. I have been an engineer, producer, artist, editor and music supervisor. I’ve made short films, music videos, product campaigns you name it. I’ve created jingles for television shows, performed live and DJ’ed a party of more than 3,000 people. This is why I say that I am an artist. I don’t like to put myself into a box. The mind should be able to create freely and with love.
What matters most to you? Why?
Happiness. If you are happy in everything you are doing then I believe you have mastered what life is all about. We are only here for a short time so why live life worrying and being upset. Create a world that you can live in where things make you happy. And then watch as time starts to move slower, because you are happy to wake up and go to sleep everyday.
