Meet Marissa Bass of Bass Chiropractic in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Bass.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marissa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I attended the Archer School for Girls. I was a three-sport varsity high school athlete while pursuing a professional career in ballet.

While receiving Chiropractic care, I changed majors from dance to human biology. I attended Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles. I graduated with both a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Biology and as a Doctor of Chiropractic at the age of 26. While in school, I worked at a very successful, high volume chiropractic office, to later open up my own wellness center at the age of 27. For the past 13 years, I have worked in the wellness field. With an extensive dance and sports background, I began treating athletic injuries and found that sustained healing came with a very thoughtful combination care and alignment based therapies. In my personal practice of Iyengar Yoga, I began to understand the connection between Chiropractic health and Therapeutic Yoga. I now own an amazing Wellness Center in the heart of Los Angeles across the street from Largo, where I’m treating the entertainment and athletic world. Grammy award winning singers academy award winning actors and writers, as well as athletes, trainers and families ranging from birth through old age. You never know who you will run into here- Could be your Grandma or a Grammy winner!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first began my practice, looking for space, I realized I was different and had to forge out on my own. As a young professional and a woman, I had to learn the business ropes. Bank accounts, insurance, leases, staffing, being a good manager while giving my patients the highest level of care in the industry. I had to learn to balance my personal life with my professional life. Taking time for professional development, personal development and self-care.

Bass Chiropractic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business model is very innovative. I have taken the cutting-edge aspects of Chiropractic and combined them with the essence of Yoga Therapeutics. Additionally, my Chiropractic practice includes: decompression, traction and more over the education of full body wellness. I host educational classes, events, health talks to all types of business in our area and yoga therapeutic classes. I believe in giving back by empowering my community, speaking at schools and sitting on boards such as The Archer School for Girls. My goal is for my patients to achieve optimum health and fitness while balancing the demands of their careers, their families and their professions. It’s a process for the patient and we provide tremendous support here in the office. Patients can come in and work on their modalities and therapies, even on the days they are not being treated. Oh, and did I mention… people really have fun here! A positive life affirming environment.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment, and there are more of them than ever before, is seeing my patients improving. Smiling from the inside out because they actually are feeling better. When they do better they feel better when they feel better they are better!
