Meet Marcos Bonilla of Matador Training Systems in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcos Bonilla.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marcos. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I developed my passion for training others through my own experiences as an amateur and professional MMA fighter. The commitment the sport requires changed my life. I genuinely enjoy helping others reach their goals whether it be living a healthier lifestyle or fighting in a ring or cage. I’m extremely passionate about what I do. I like to use the same methods I use to prepare for a fight to help my fighters and clients reach their goals. I’ve been involved in combat sports for a little over ten years now. I’ve fought for some of the biggest promotions in the world and coached/cornered teammates and friends in them as well.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been a lot of ups and downs on the road.. trying to balance my life as a business owner, at one time having a full-time job and still chasing the fight dream.

Bad business deals, losses in the cage.. but they’ve all been learning experiences…

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Matador Training Systems – what should we know?
I own and operate my own personal training business. I specialize in MMA, boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing and overall fitness.

I’m known for my system of training which involves a lot of fight related workouts.

I coach and train everyone from aspiring fighters, moms, lawyers, entrepreneurs, doctors, etc.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think the most important thing is building a bond with every person I train. They’re more than just my fighters or clients. They’ve become my close friends.
