Meet Lu (Crystal) Liu of L.I.U. Landscape Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lu (Crystal) Liu.

Hi Lu (Crystal), thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I came from China on 2012 as an international graduate student. After I Received double masters, I wanted to start my own business. But I didn’t know where to start. So I worked for other companies for 3 years then focused on my own business. I registered my company at 2014 and did design for some clients as a side job during that 3 years. Now my company is in business for almost 11 years .

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Most time is smooth, but Covid slowed it down a little bit. My struggle is the balance between kids and work because my work does require a lot of attention and time just like kids

As you know, we’re big fans of L.I.U. Landscape Inc.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We do landscape design and construction for both residential and commercial. We are design built firm so we understand and offer both design and construction. We speaks English, Chinese and Spanish. Our designers have master degrees and experience on both design and construction. Our workers got training on design and construction. So their craftsmanship is delicate and detail-oriented.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our supportive clients, architects and developers have been worked with us for many years. Designers have worked with us for many years. My family(mom, husband and kids) are really supportive. A lot of referrals from previous clients
