Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Wiggins.
Lindsay, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a wife, a mom of two adorable little ones, a runner, a nature lover, and an event planner and designer. I always dreamed of being in a creative field and doing something that had meaning behind it. I wanted to make people feel special and do something that would make a difference in their lives. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family surrounded by creative and beautiful spaces. It set up the perfect foundation for what I wanted to do with my life, and what I know best—creating meaningful spaces and events and building lasting relationships with my wonderful clients. I received a BA in Communications from UCSB, and from there, I received my second degree in Interior Design, fusing a strong foundation for creating events and working with people.
I began my career by working for Ford, The American Institute of Architects, and First American in marketing and branding, and essentially creating or recreating their image. I helped create, launch, and execute numerous corporate events and tradeshows. I am grateful for my time in the corporate world as it set the solid foundation for what makes my company unique. I want my clients to feel as though their event is an experience, I want them to be wowed and blown away.
I have a passion for what I do. I stay extremely organized and am able to make quick, educated decisions. All of these traits, along with my strong leadership, create confidence and trust between my clients and vendors.
Since I started planning and designing events through my own business, I have never looked back. I love what I do, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. Creating lifelong memories for clients is what I do best. I love the challenge, and working with people to help create such a special moment that is as unique as they are.
I fully invest myself into every event that I do, whether it be a wedding, a private party, or corporate event. I focus on every detail, making sure that your event is a one-of a-kind experience that becomes a cherished memory for a lifetime.
Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part it has been smooth. It is not an easy industry. Most of my clients are amazing, and I really miss them after they are gone. It is not easy being a business owner. You definitely have to put on your big girl pants, and there are a lot of different areas to manage, and people to manage when you are a wedding planner and designer. It is very rewarding, but a lot of hard work, and not as glamorous as one might think.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Bliss Productions story. Tell us more about the business.
Bliss Productions is an event planning and Design company. We are a boutique firm, and strive to create the event of our client’s dreams. We offer a variety of customized packages that are just as unique as our clients. What sets us apart is my degree in interior design, and our attention to detail. Growing up with my Dad being a custom home builder, owning his own company, really helped me see how he interacted with his vendors and how he created these beautiful spaces. I knew I wanted to do something with design and space, and that is what I do with Bliss. That is what sets us apart. We don’t take on a ton of clients per year, and try to focus on clients that we think are a good match, and that want and appreciate what we provide.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We try to keep things cutting edge, unique, and different. We might bring on one or two more people to our team, and do more of the design builds in house. I would love to do more destination weddings.
