Today we’d like to introduce you to Landon McCarroll.

Hi Landon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into dermatology began over 15 years ago with my medical training to first become a PA. Over time, I transitioned into a dermatology scientist, earning a Doctorate of Medical Science that deepened my expertise in both the science and art of dermatology. Today, I’m proud to be recognized as one of Los Angeles and Hollywood’s top voices in cosmetic dermatology, serving not only your favorite celebrities, actors, athletes, musicians, and politicians, but also patients from all backgrounds and skin types. My doctoral research focused on pigment disorders, and I’ve made it my mission to specialize in skin of color, ensuring that every patient receives personalized and expert care. At DermKing Institute in Beverly Hills, I’ve blended traditional dermatology with a focus on overall wellness, introducing our BioLongevity program to help patients achieve not just beautiful skin, but holistic well-being. It’s been an incredible journey of growth, innovation, and dedication to advancing the field of dermatology.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to where I am today has definitely had its challenges. One of the earliest obstacles was building a name for myself in such a competitive field like Beverly Hills, where so many talented professionals practice. Another ongoing challenge has been educating the public about the full scope of practice for PAs. Beyond aesthetic or cosmetic services, PAs are trained to assess, diagnose, treat, and prescribe, bringing a comprehensive medical perspective to patient care that elevate patient results. It’s been a challenge to help people understand the full depth and value of what we do.

My journey to becoming a dermatology scientist, earning a Doctorate of Medical Science, was driven by a commitment to bring that high level of expertise and quality of care into every aspect of patient interaction, whether cosmetic or medical. Ensuring that our practice is inclusive and provides exceptional care for all skin types and backgrounds has been another focus, especially with my expertise in skin of color and pigment disorders. We’ve also navigated the complexities of blending traditional dermatology with wellness approaches through our BioLongevity program, which has helped us create a practice that’s both innovative and inclusive. Each of these challenges has ultimately strengthened our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about our city is the vibrant diversity and the innovative spirit that you can feel everywhere. There’s a unique blend of cultures, creativity, and forward-thinking energy that makes it such an exciting place to live and work. On the flip side, what I like least is probably the traffic and how spread out everything can be, which sometimes makes it a bit challenging to get around. But overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives, and it’s a fantastic place to be!
