I began planning events in high school and as a student at LMU I secured a job as an event planner. I began by planning small baby and bridal showers which eventually led to planning weddings and larger events.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. The industry sugars at times with people who have become planners after planning their own wedding. Most recently brides who have gotten married will declare themselves as planners and offer low prices for planning weddings. Additionally, travel agents will also secure contracts for weddings. Of course social media plays a part in planning. Most brides will find everything for their wedding online and will have bigger and expensive ideas with a smaller budget.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is a good place for this business, but it comes with a price tag as the industry vendors are very expensive. I would recommend a person interns with a company and find their niche and launch from there. We can improve with valuing the business and offering products and better customer service.
